gilbert not happy???
just read on the crawl on the bottom of espn while watching a K-1 tourny that Gilbert Areanas says he will opt out of his contract after this season and become a free agent. To me this indicates he is either unhappy or wanting a raise. if he is indeed unhappy and needs a change of scenery, why not Dallas? Trade checke says that a JET/Bucnker for Gilber trade works with the salary cap. i think it does a couple things for both sides and really gives us that scoring guard that we need. Is gilebert really a shotting guard or are we gonna have ourselves the same player as JET but 2 inches taller? help me out, is this all way to far fetched?

Haha
The Wizards aren't giving up their franchise player...
Watching them in the playoffs without him was hard to watch, their team is centered around him...

LOL
You don't trade stars in the NBA. You never, ever get equal value. Like... ever.

would work out great
the wizards? they'd get hosed. no way that trade would ever go down. even if their salaries matched.
jason terry is 29 years old.
gilbert is 25 years old.
last 3 years gilbert has put up about 27.5 points per game and led an otherwise average team to the playoffs.
jason terry has never put up 20 points per game and was never the best player on a playoff team.
gilbert is a better passer, rebounder, defender. terry is a better shooter though.
would need more than buckner added on to make that trade work.
in fact if you add buckner's and terry's per game stats from last season, it's not really any better than gilbert by himself lol.
PPG
gilbert - 28.4
terry/buckner - 20.7
RPG
gilbert - 4.6
t/b - 5.0
APG
gilbert - 6.0
t/b - 6.1
SPG
gilbert - 1.9
t/b - 1.6

speaking of ridiculous trade proposals....
it was just something i saw on a crawl at the bottom of a ball game. im not sure u should really even trade dirk for gilbert straight up if u are the wizards, its just a matter of if they know he is either holding out for cash or just hating his atmosphere. i see coran butler as being a more accessible commodity, it's just seems that JET seems to be the one player on our team that is good and could bring a return. all this considering he is not a good fit at anyone postition on our team. He seems like a good dude, and has had some big games, but if u can get shooter in return for him(even if u have to package a big and/or a buckner) then i think u have to explore it. why dont we offer JET and a sack of turds for Kobe, surely the lakers have no leverage since everyone knows Kobe wants out.....
