Mo Williams

Why are we not talking about trying to get him?  Everyone talks about how we need a pure point guard, or even just a better PG, so why is his name not coming up.  He is the 2nd best PG on the market, and in the long run might prove to be a very good PG.  at 24 he's a really good defender and averaged 17.3 ppg, 4.8 rpg, and 6.1 apg.  He's got room to improve, but I think he's better than Devin Harris right now.  That's not saying Devin have more potential, I just think that Mo Williams is a better PG right now.  Plus, wouldn't you rather have 2 young guys that have a ton of potential rather than one.  If we can get Williams and Wallace for Terry and Howard I think we've made a couple of upgrades.  And I say that loving what Terry does for this team.

aquiring him is one move too many.  If you can get Wallace for Terry and change (Buck?) that is the only move you need to make.  Now you just fill holes.  You get a backup point like Pargo or Blake, try and get PJ Brown to not retire, and if you don't resign george, try and get Hill for whatever you have left in your MLE and you are done.

Starting Lineup:

PG - Harris
SG - Howard
SF - Wallace
PF - Dirk
C - Damp/Diop

Bench:

Stack
Damp/Diop
PJ Brown
JJ
Pargo/Blake
Hill
Pops

Harris
I"M just a little worried that he isn't ready to be the starting PG.  And at that, there's nobody on the roster that I would feel comfortable spelling him when he gets in foul trouble or has a really bad night.  That's where I think a guy like Peterson could come in handy.  He could compete with Harris for the starting job and they could both get decent minutes in the reg season.  The guy who plays better gets more minutes in the post-season.

Also, what happens if Harris gets hurt?  With his style of play it happens.  Heck, it's happened every year with him, though nothing major.  He did have the injury a couple of years ago that was ridiculously nagging and really hurt his game.  Would you feel comfortable having PJ Brown be the starter?  JJ Barea?

See
Wallace has shown he's a good player with potential, while Howard is an All-Star type player who has gotten better and more solid every year. He's a great defensive player and terrific scorer. He grabs a nice number of rebounds and gives out a few assists. Wallace is smaller and has seen more injury time than Howard. I'm not against trading Howard, but not for lesser value. I mean he might truly blossom as the Pippen copy he has a chance to be.
