D. Mason..... would ya?

Just checking out an article about the top 20 FA's when i came across Desmond Mason ( http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedia/photo_gallery/0706/gallery.nba.free.agents/content.11.ht ml). It does list the Mavs as possible suitors, it also makes mention of is shooting skill(or lack there of). I could have only seen us making a run at him with our MLE if we either didnt already have a greg Buckner or hadnt re-signed Stack. He is the slasher that we need as well as being an active defender, but i would only be in favor of making a run at him should we Deal Buckner as a throw in another trade that could be brewing.

I don't know

but I do know that Buckner's presence should not be holding us back from adding a guy like Mason. If we're hesitating to add a 2-guard to the team in free agency, I'd like to think it's because Avery and the staff think Moe Ager is ready to take a step forward. Buckner is not the kind of guy we need to be overly concerned about displacing. Buckner is an okay player, but his role on this team should be as a 10th-man/depth guy.

i didnt think in those terms...

but yeah, i hope buckner isn't the reason they dont sign ANYONE. I guess that Mason is a much better version of what Buckner does except with some swoop to the hoop ability.
