CNNSI Offseason Division Analysis

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/steve_aschburner/09/03/southwest.grades/index.html

Cnnsi is doing articles on the Offseason of various divisions and I saw the one on the Southwest.  Based only on Offseason moves to them it appears Houston has taken great leaps.

Of course in the end the Powers are Dallas and SA.

Everyone wants moves and things to look good but I am very satisfied that we did not break up our core and overhaul things.

I agree
I am happy with the offseason.  I just think that Terry will be coming off the bench this season as a super scoring sub like van exel did a few years ago.  The battle for the starting 2 will be the most interesting thing in camp.

Terry
He'll start again cause Avery's a dolt.

He's been seriously outcoached the last two playoffs. Why are we wasting the prime of a truly great NBA player with one of the worst coaches in the league?

Pat Riley made Avery his bitch, and then this past year Nellie took sloppy seconds. The only question about the upcoming season is which coach is gonna donkey punch the little general when the playoffs roll around?

Avery Johnson is a horrible coach.

HORRIBLE.

The NBA is rigged. I've been telling you it is, and now the FBI backs me up. If you don't believe the truth by now, you've got brain problems.

I remember
a story before summer league that quoted avery as saying they had an opening at the 2 and he was hoping to see good things out of ager and thought of him as a potential starter.  But who knows.  Remember the Antoine Walker deal went down with only one week left in camp a few years ago.  Donnie still might have some aces to play to adjust the roster and fill voids.

Ager
That'd be AWESOME. He's got some holes in his game, but he's athletic and he's not afraid of taking it to the hole on offense.

Harris, Ager, Howard, Dirk and Damp with Terry, Jones, Stack, Bass (Webber/Brown?) and Diop backing them up is a very nice lineup.

It won't matter in the end cause the league will screw us and Avery will help, but I do like the thought of the young, super atheltic back court we could throw out there with Harris and Ager.

Heck, any lineup that includes JET getting reduced play is fine by me:)
