"We love our team" (Do they really?)
I'm sure Mark, Rick and Donnie can't deny that this team needs more than the current personnel to even compete in the west judging by the poor showing of this team. Here is an interesting bit the front office should take a long look at according to Sam Smith of bulls.com: "One interesting name that comes up these days in trade is Oklahoma City's Earl Watson, a tough guy who really is a good backup..... Though Oklahoma makes you think about possibilities. They are burying veterans like Watson, Chris Wilcox and Joe Smith and don't seem to have a great amount of use for Nick Collison. GM's say you could get any of them, and I've always been a little intrigued by Wilcox and Collison."
Could this be true? well maybe part of it but still I hope they take a look at it especially Watson and Wilcox (though he just got injured recently) coz Collison might be a long shot but Mason would also be intriguing. Some tweaks will definitely help

Interestingly
there is also an item/rumor which talks about Don Nelson’s master plan:
“Amidst the turmoil in Golden State, some around the NBA are speculating that it is Don Nelson’s behind-the-scenes master plan (he got his close friend Larry Riley installed in upper management) to force out Chris Mullin to enable his son, Donn, to move over from Dallas.”
I would take Watson, if we're trading just Stackhouse.
I would say Wright or Williams, but they don’t have the salaries to match up.
I have witnessed time and time again.
I don't see what a backup pg is going to do for this team.
We need a 2 guard that can go to the rim and score. Sorry I just don’t see how Watson helps this team really.
He's better than Stackhouse.
Stackhouse isn’t really doing anything for us.
I have witnessed time and time again.
It does
Another point guard is one of the needs of this team. If you are not are of it Kidd is 35 and JJ is not a reliable scorer nor a reliable anything to this point. With Watson you get a capable defender, an above average passer and most importantly one who can take it to the whole when needed or can shoot off the dribble or off a pick. So it does answer a need. Regarding the 2 guard spot, Mason can fill a whole somewhat off the bench if the mavs look at he can replace stack’s role for the last several years, since there aren’t that much viable options available.
Frankly...
The team needs to be blow up and rebuilt…
Can’t score in the paint. No slashers on the perimeter. For a team that relies so heavily on the jumper, it’s pathetic how few real deep threats this team has. Can’t lock anybody down defensively…
The team is constructed poorly and they’ve done nothing to seriously turn the roster over since the Finals collapse. With the exception of Kidd for Harris, the core is exactly the same…
There are no 2 guard guys I can think of that we could get.
If we adding some scoring at center, Darko or Curry, I think that would help us.
I have witnessed time and time again.
Yeah, the only problem is would they take Dampier
if we gave them Howard or Terry.
I have witnessed time and time again.
Hold off on the blowing up...
till midseason and if we are still suckin it up….blow it up!

Based on what I'm seeing so far
Blowing it up THIS season doesn’t make much sense. Wait until the ASB at least. If there’s a miracle and we become good, roll with it, we expect to lose anyway. If we still suck, then deal Kidd’s contract and what have you. Wheel and deal in the off season, not now.
Deal Kidd's contract for what?
We need the cap room for the free agent class of 2010. If you want to trade him for players whose contracts end next season, okay, but I’m not trading him for players, whose contracts go beyond that season, unless they are young players with low salaries.
I have witnessed time and time again.
Too early to tell with 2010.
I admit that the last 4 games have been miserable, but essentially this same core of players produced under a different head coach. The coaching staff has some culpability here.
The likelyhood that the free agent market will be the same as what we’re used to now in 2010 doesn’t seem probable in my limited understanding of how the cap works under the current CBA. The cap is determined by 51% of BRI of the previous year, which in the worst global economy in many many years, stands to be lower than previous seasons. That long list of FAs stands to be much shorter as one would expect players (under advice from their agents, of course) to re-sign or extend existing contracts rather than take chances. If anyone can shed more light here on something I’m missing with the CBA and salary cap agreement, I’m listening.
I would expect the outcomes will obviously be different for Bron-bron and Kobe, but we may very well see salaries go down on the whole.
