I'm here
Finally done killing time by watching that boring-ish Cavs/Nuggets game…hope everyone’s having a good evening so far
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 7:31 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Did they move it back one hour?
League pass is telling me it’s not on for the next hour.
by Norsktroll on Nov 13, 2008 7:31 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Yeah, they did
But I can see it now, so I don’t know why you can’t. It’s the Chicago channel airing it.
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 7:33 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
This blows
For some reason I only get the Denver-Cleveland game. Dallas is supposed to start 9:30 ET
by Norsktroll on Nov 13, 2008 7:43 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
That's lame
Did you try League Pass broadband? Maybe that’ll work
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 7:44 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I predict...that we'll get a big lead and then blow it
Hope I’m wrong!
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 7:39 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Well...
Your prediction came true unfortunately
by Slick-ish24 on Nov 13, 2008 8:51 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Good news: the jumpshots are falling, all net
Bad news: ……….?
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 7:43 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Josh to the line
Good job going to the basket
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 7:45 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Damp is such an offensive weakling
Escapes from Gooden, only to miss an undefended hook shot
Good thing he tipped it in himself
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 7:49 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Ha, I think Dirk got lucky on that pass
It looked a bit awkward
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 7:50 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
It wouldn't have been awkward
if it wasn’t too low. Good thing Damp caught it (whoa!) and saved the play.
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 7:51 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Damn
Josh is hot…a quick start for him, as usual
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 7:51 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Don't put the ball down, Damp!
That would have been an easy lay in
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 7:54 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Damp should try catching and dunking in one motion
Rather than catch, plant, get fouled
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 7:54 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Wohoo, I'm back with some crappy Turkish stream on Justin.tv
Thanks league pass :)
by Norsktroll on Nov 13, 2008 7:57 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
How does Kidd look defending Rose so far?
by Norsktroll on Nov 13, 2008 7:57 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Pretty well, I'd say
Rose hasn’t scored and only has one rebound…he is 0-4
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 7:59 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Dirk missed a WIDE OPEN jumpshot, short
what’s up with that?
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 8:01 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I know, right
He was 2-2 at first and then he missed a three that he had a good look on and then that jumper
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 8:02 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
How typical
We are giving up the lead…9-0 run
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 8:03 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
With Aaron Gray on the floor as a big man
by Norsktroll on Nov 13, 2008 8:03 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
He was also the big man on the floor
when they beat us in preseason
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 8:06 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
11-0 run now
and Thomas is about to shoot FTs
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 8:04 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Things changed dramatically when Kidd sat
Unfortunately, we can’t keep him in the whole game
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 8:06 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I know, right
I wish we had a Jason Kidd clone
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 8:08 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I could offer a guy who can pass but not shoot...
Our very own Sergio Rodriguez. He would also work well in a running offense. And he wants more playing time. Though I guess he will eventually end up on some bad team a la Beno Udrih.
by Norsktroll on Nov 13, 2008 8:10 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
How about you guys give up Rudy Fernandez ;)
I love that guy
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 8:12 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I hate it when that happens
at the buzzer
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 8:15 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Green
Why can we not have Green and Kidd in at the same time?
by ETBURyan on Nov 13, 2008 8:15 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Or Kwame Brown
Thank god the Mavs pay Diop more.
by Norsktroll on Nov 13, 2008 8:18 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
The way the commentators are talking about the Mavs depresses me
The thing is, they’re just being honest
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 8:19 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
It can't be a very good sign that the writers for the new Barkley spot chose to make the Mavs the butt of the joke
by Norsktroll on Nov 13, 2008 8:22 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Dirk sure is getting a long rest
Unless he is, dare I say, being benched
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 8:26 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Damp
is the second leading scorer for the mavs…oh jeez
by ETBURyan on Nov 13, 2008 8:26 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
he is -7 on the +/-
of course, I have never known carlisle to let a +/- to get in the way of playing stack
by ETBURyan on Nov 13, 2008 8:33 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Man, Dirk is stinking up the joint after starting out 2-2
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 8:31 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
So far this season, he is
Not gonna win many games with him shooting 43%
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 8:33 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
You've pointed it out before, it's like he's tired
Thing is, Kidd won gold in China and theoretically should be tired as well, but it doesn’t seem like it
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 8:34 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
kidd barely played during the olympics
by ETBURyan on Nov 13, 2008 8:35 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Yeah, good point
But I do agree, Dirk looks tired
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 8:37 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Anyone
got an online English feed? I’m currently using the same justin.tv Turkish feed.
by jonthefon on Nov 13, 2008 8:41 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Man, those Bulls commentators talk trash as if their team was still dominating
Newsflash, you had a horrible last season and lucked into Rose.
by Norsktroll on Nov 13, 2008 8:41 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
A lid on the basket
say the bulls commentators…i tend to agree
by ETBURyan on Nov 13, 2008 8:41 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Makeup call
Gray can’t believe it, but he got away with completely falling for the Kidd fake
by jonthefon on Nov 13, 2008 8:43 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Damn it, Diop
The ball barely touched the rim there
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 8:44 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
We paid this douche
the full MLE. And he misses two FTs and gets scored on at the other end.
by jonthefon on Nov 13, 2008 8:45 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I'll say it again
Pathetic…please turn this around!
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 8:45 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
i must say watching the mavs online is much
more depressing than just seeing the box scores and reading the recaps like i have done for the past games
by ETBURyan on Nov 13, 2008 8:46 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I don't know what is worse,
losing in the finals…or just sucking
by ETBURyan on Nov 13, 2008 8:48 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
This is definitely worse.
Considering we could’ve avoided it.
by jonthefon on Nov 13, 2008 8:49 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
It has to be the finals
I’ll forever be bitter and embarrassed about that
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 8:49 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I'm more embarrassed with the Golden State flameout
Was a total chokejob. The Finals, on the other hand…
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 8:50 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
To me, one is just as bad as the other
I avoided all basketball after the Golden State series until the next season started…and I might’ve cried when we lost the finals
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 8:52 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
The 67 win season didn't start good either
No need for desperation yet. I don’t think the Mavs will win that many again, but like the Spurs they look worse now than they are.
by Norsktroll on Nov 13, 2008 8:51 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
the Spurs are missing
Ginobli and Parker…we are missing Devean George. I see a difference
by ETBURyan on Nov 13, 2008 8:52 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
The Spurs have a good reason, at least
No Manu and now no Parker
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 8:53 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Well, against the Lakers Dallas looked good without Josh
And this one isn’t anywhere near over.
by Norsktroll on Nov 13, 2008 8:54 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I need to borrow some of your optimism
Your team is looking great, and now Oden is back
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 8:55 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I level it out by being also a Mavs fan :)
I predict both teams to reach the playoffs. With the Mavs in front.
by Norsktroll on Nov 13, 2008 8:56 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
We had a nice record
at the time of the Kidd trade. Something like #3 in the West. I rejoiced at the Suns making the Shaq trade.
by jonthefon on Nov 13, 2008 8:51 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Yeah
I never got that. We were beating the good teams more than we were losing to them so I never got why we traded.
by ETBURyan on Nov 13, 2008 8:53 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Panicked, maybe
Because LA got Gasol and everything
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 8:54 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
why didn't we try for Gasol...it doesn't seem as if we would have had to give up much for him.
by ETBURyan on Nov 13, 2008 8:55 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Memphis were idiots
They knew that they could’ve tanked to get a high pick in a talented and deep incoming draft class.
by jonthefon on Nov 13, 2008 8:56 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Think
the two Gasols, Rudy Gay, Mayo, Conley as a starting lineup.
by jonthefon on Nov 13, 2008 8:56 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Mayo is my rookie of the year so far
Him and Rudy Fernandez
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 8:57 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
That kid
can score in bunches. The NBA hasn’t adjusted to him yet.
by jonthefon on Nov 13, 2008 8:57 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I know the media are so focused on Oden, Rose, and Beasley
But Mayo is getting it done
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 8:59 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
He was a late/early Christmas present from Jerry West
nothing more
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 8:56 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I have no idea, really
I mean, the Lakers gave up Kwame Brown and some other guy (Crittenden?) and maybe money…we probably could have done the same thing, maybe?
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 8:56 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I think our record was
34-18 or something like that. And we’d lost several of those just before that because Harris was out and that made our iso offence look stagnant (kinda like what happened after Kidd got here).
by jonthefon on Nov 13, 2008 8:54 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I'm starting to think
the city of Dallas may be cursed sports-wise. They haven’t done anything for nine years.
by jonthefon on Nov 13, 2008 8:55 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
This team....
Sucks!!!! Up 19 on a rebuilding Chicago team and now down 1 and it’s only halftime. Unbelievable how this franchise has fallen in a year and a half. These are the same guys that went to the NBA freaking finals 2 years ago. I can’t wait until we break this core up.
by Slick-ish24 on Nov 13, 2008 8:57 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Just dump salary
until we can give an A-Rod deal to LeBron to get here.
by jonthefon on Nov 13, 2008 8:58 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
That sounds remotely realistic
He is from Texas, right? Problem is: Nobody in his right mind will pick up the contracts of Damp & Co.
by Norsktroll on Nov 13, 2008 9:00 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Thing is
LeBron can actually carry a team by himself. I’m not sure Dirk and Bosh can.
by jonthefon on Nov 13, 2008 9:00 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Josh Howard..
is the main problem here. We need clutch players who don’t shy away from 4th quarters. He is our 2nd player supposedly. Going to need more than 2 points in the 4th quarter from our 2nd best player. FRUSTRATING!
by Slick-ish24 on Nov 13, 2008 9:02 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
and all other teams know that...his price will be ridiculously high
We should try for him if we can, but don’t go crazy for him. Pick up the others is a better idea
by ETBURyan on Nov 13, 2008 9:02 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Deron Williams is from Dallas, I think
But that’s a wild and unrealistic hope! I love him too, I think he’s awesome
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 9:01 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
He's going to get
a huge, huge deal from Utah.
by jonthefon on Nov 13, 2008 9:01 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
They'd be stupid not to give him a huge deal
Please be stupid!
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 9:02 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
we lose kidd and others from the books this year and next...as long as we don't pick up big contracts then we can wait it out and try for bosh
by ETBURyan on Nov 13, 2008 9:01 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
If they cut Damp, it's possible to be under the cap in 2010
But maybe not by enough. And it would be a pretty empty roster, without guys like Bass.

by Norsktroll on Nov 13, 2008 9:04 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Instead of everybody leaving at half time, people stayed
nice
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 8:57 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
The Mavs' sense of urgency to begin games
has a 6-minute time limit
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 9:04 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Geez
Kidd was beating Damp for that board…that’s just one of the things wrong with our centers
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 9:06 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I think
these players are ready to see new teams…or at least to be on what is left of the mavs…they are waiting for the inevitable
by ETBURyan on Nov 13, 2008 9:06 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
They were so excited about the new coach, though
Dirk was, at least
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 9:06 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
and no one else was
which got him down
by ETBURyan on Nov 13, 2008 9:07 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Was Cuban exaggerating, then
When he said like, half the team would walk out/demand trades if Avery stayed?
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 9:08 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
no, but that was evidently just an excuse for most of the team
seems like only dirk really meant it.
by ETBURyan on Nov 13, 2008 9:09 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Gordon has been owning Terry
can they swap?
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 9:06 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Having no trouble at all
laying it in over our weak asses.
by jonthefon on Nov 13, 2008 9:07 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Why hasn't Green gone in the game?
He’s not hurt or anything.
by bruce182 on Nov 13, 2008 9:07 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Dirk is totally sucking
I hate it…go back into that hyperbaric chamber or something, whatever miracle cure did the trick last season
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 9:10 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Dirk has to grow his hair ASAP
We need Super Saiyan Dirk back
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 9:10 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Damp
gets his shot stuffed.
Goaltending called, didn’t look like one.
by jonthefon on Nov 13, 2008 9:12 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Die drei-punkte.
Dirk misses another shot but Damp tips it back in/
by jonthefon on Nov 13, 2008 9:13 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
wow...antoine is doing great defense...
we should not play green cause wright is stopping rose. What the…?
by ETBURyan on Nov 13, 2008 9:12 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
so i guess
my internet is not live cause you guys are ahead of me.
by ETBURyan on Nov 13, 2008 9:13 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
There's Kidd with..
the long 2 pointer.. love that he’s hitting the shots but get behind the line to make it 3.
by Slick-ish24 on Nov 13, 2008 9:14 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Stop shooting Dirk!
I can’t believe I’ll ever type those words. Get to the FT line instead.
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 9:13 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
He's allergic to fouls, dude
I tell him to get to the line all the time and he doesn’t do it
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 9:14 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I remember Dirk going that route in a game against the Spurs last year
He is capable….like once in every 50 games or so.
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 9:16 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Didn't Stack have a similar number not too long ago
-17 or something
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 9:15 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Seems to be an awful lot of vitriol for Damp tonight.
He’s got a decent line so far.
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 13, 2008 9:15 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
if we pick him up only give him
one year contracts…so that he is always playing for it
by ETBURyan on Nov 13, 2008 9:16 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
The Western Conference landscape was a little different when he signed.
He’s got two years left after 08-09. I hope he continues to play for a new contract for 2+ seasons.
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 13, 2008 9:22 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Dirk's only 30
And they talk about him like he’s an old man or something…if only he didn’t play so much during the off season
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 9:18 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
because he's playing like it so far
can’t blame them
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 9:19 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Those guys are unbelievable. They talk as if Jordan was still playing for them. And in reality, they will struggle to make the playoffs. Again.
by Norsktroll on Nov 13, 2008 9:19 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
You can't say that
A ton of people were playing this summer. No excuse.
Fire Todd Dodge. Seriously. Back to Suckville with a loss to FLA ATL but whatever, SUCK IT WESTERN KENTUCKY! 1-9 baby!
by sprite on Nov 13, 2008 9:20 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
You're right
I don’t want to think of him being old…Nash is older and doesn’t seem like it
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 9:21 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I'm going to stop watching,
and see if they do good. I wasn’t watching during this mini run. Starting now.
by bruce182 on Nov 13, 2008 9:19 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
How can we look like a completely different team after the first six minutes?
I mean, how do you explain the Jekyll and Hyde sides of this team…or why it even happens to begin with
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 9:24 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I have no working theory
It’s perplexing as fk
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 9:26 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
we only shoot jump shots…when they go in it looks good, but if not they look…well, like they do now
by ETBURyan on Nov 13, 2008 9:26 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
The commentators brought up a point...
About how there are no screen and rolls run for Dirk anymore. I guess I never noticed this during the game. Why put a stop to a working formula?
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 9:28 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Carlisle looking to have Dirk play a little like Bird, I believe
Dirk of old handled the ball quite a lot, dominated it, was centerpiece of the offense, operating at the high post and the key/FT line. Worked wonders.
Now he’s being fed in certain spots, having him do a cut and a catch, standing idle behind the three point line. Still a work in progress, I suppose.
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 9:32 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
And so...
we’re going to FUCKING LOSE AGAIN.
by jonthefon on Nov 13, 2008 9:30 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
These Chicago guys sure like to bicker
And use old timey words like sassafrass
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 9:32 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Is it worse than losing to the Clippers?
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 9:33 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I think so
Clippers have Baron, Kaman, Camby, Mobley, Thornton, etc.
The Bulls are a bunch of young players, led by a noob coach.
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 9:34 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Hope we don't lose to the Bobcats
They’re coming up soon, right?
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 9:35 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
If we lose to the Bobcats
I might not watch another game this year.
Fire Todd Dodge. Seriously. Back to Suckville with a loss to FLA ATL but whatever, SUCK IT WESTERN KENTUCKY! 1-9 baby!
by sprite on Nov 13, 2008 9:37 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Yeah...
But it’s sort of working…if they can get them in the penalty, they’ll have a shot.
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 13, 2008 9:34 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Thing is
we wouldn’t go for the line even if we did get them in the penalty.
by jonthefon on Nov 13, 2008 9:35 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Looks like they're driving it to me.
If they could stop the TOs…
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 13, 2008 9:35 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
They certainly are
not getting the calls, though. This is so frustrating.

why does the lineup look like
we’re givin’ up…

Cuban should implement a rule
Every jumpshot taken and missed in the 4Q, regardless of who shoots, will have to pay $5000 or something
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 9:39 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Why are we getting blown out by Vinny Del Negro?

This is like a completely different team
Dirk said that they’re not good enough to coast, yet sometimes it seems they’re doing just that

I can't even
watch anything after the third quarter these days.

any of the next three, I’m ready to give up.
We’ve just got no balls.

You know I feel sorry for Dirk. If it keeps going at this rate, I’m all for getting him out of this hell hole and taking our chances with the Lottery.
Fire Todd Dodge. Seriously. Back to Suckville with a loss to FLA ATL but whatever, SUCK IT WESTERN KENTUCKY! 1-9 baby!

who is this on? Doesn’t Carlisle deserve some of the blame or do we just suck?

by Beasticon on Nov 13, 2008 10:07 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
20-25
But he wouldn’t help much. The team needs a starting SG (if Green/Wright/Terry can’t step it up) and a center.

I mean, how long is Carlisle’s grace period before he can’t use anymore “new coach/trying to figure it out” excuses?

Well, maybe some… But the problems this team is having are some of the same problems they had with Avery…

20-25 games, that's what I'm allowing him/them
If we still suck after that, then I think it’s time to use Kidd’s contract as an asset, which is sad.

You don't need any more games

But it’s hard for me to miss any Mavs game, this one especially, since they’re against the home team

Must be tough to watch.
Who do you root for?
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 13, 2008 10:28 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
The Mavericks
Though sometimes I end up kind of cheering for whichever team has the ball. But I usually just go to Magic games when Dallas is in town (with the exception of last post season when I watched a couple of games against Toronto and the pre-season game this year against CSKA Moscow), so I prefer the Mavericks. I must like to torture myself.
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 10:32 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
That's the correct answer!
I’ve been to a few Magic games when I used to work in Orlando. It was good times. I even got molested by the Stuff the Magic Dragon to amusement of the crowd once.
I’m a Dwight Howard fan, though. I’ll definitely watch.
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 13, 2008 10:37 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Where in Orlando did you live?
I work at UCF. Wow, molested by Stuff…something to be proud of, I’m sure. The amazingly annoying Jet Blue crew really got on my nerves during that CSKA game…they were right in my section, telling us when to clap and cheer as if we were stupid and have never seen a basketball game in our lives.
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 10:41 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I didn't live there, just worked.
I used to work in the event industry, so we did tradeshows and conferences there several times a year.
Yeah, the stuff thing was surreal. I was many beers in and zoned in on the Spurs/Magic game. Next thing I know my buddies sitting next to me are laughing hysterically…and then I notice that A LOT of people in the arena were laughing. I feel something bumping the back of my head and I turned around – Stuff was behind me, one row above, doing the humpy-dance against the back of my head. I had fuzz on my clothes when I left.
Funny thing was, my friend mentioned that it seemed a little engaged for a mascot to treat a fan. I was pretty drunk so I didn’t think it was out of the ordinary at the time, but later that season, a guy got arrested for attacking Stuff for pulling similar antics.
Like I said, good times.

They have a better record
But the Magic haven’t been as great as they should be…they are still inconsistent, but they find a way to win.
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 10:28 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I think it's time for Carlisle to go Avery on these guys
MICROMANAGE.
The end of the 4th speaks for itself. Carlisle got off his ass and started controlling the game. Too late, but it shows that it’s exponentially THE better option compared to just trusting the ball-chucking idiots in white and blue…
I think Carlisle is totally deferring to Dirk, Kidd, Josh, JET, Stack, etc.; it’s like he’s harboring some sort of “respect for seniority” for those guys. You know what I mean..
Enough of that.
by ptrck on Nov 13, 2008 10:34 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
But not too Avery, right
He has to find a happy medium…I mean, they got rid of Avery for a reason
by Marie on Nov 13, 2008 10:36 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Avery was a good coach
But he was still developing. That damn huge ego of his got in the way, though, ruined it all.
