We can do this

We have to…it’s the Knicks!

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 4:50 PM CST reply actions

I'm stuck with Knicks commentary

Oh well…they are not totally horrible

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 5:00 PM CST reply actions

They have Clyde Frazier, right?

It may not be horrible, but they soon will be.

by ptrck on Nov 16, 2008 5:07 PM CST up reply actions

Yes, they do

But i haven’t seen him tonight. It’s Breen and some other dude I’m not familiar with

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 5:08 PM CST up reply actions

Hmm.

Barea/George/Bass/Terry/Singelton?

Fire Todd Dodge. Seriously. Back to Suckville with a loss to FLA ATL but whatever, SUCK IT WESTERN KENTUCKY! 1-9 baby!

by sprite on Nov 16, 2008 5:11 PM CST up reply actions

That's a plus.

Fire Todd Dodge. Seriously. Back to Suckville with a loss to FLA ATL but whatever, SUCK IT WESTERN KENTUCKY! 1-9 baby!

by sprite on Nov 16, 2008 5:16 PM CST up reply actions

Gee

A pull-up J for Howard already

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 5:14 PM CST reply actions

Wow

Dirk posting up for the last two possessions!

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 5:15 PM CST reply actions

Damn

Too bad that dunk by Green didn’t count, but what the hell was Damp doing shooting that anyway?

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 5:16 PM CST reply actions

Yeah, that was weird

You could see him thinking “I know I shouldn’t shoot but I’m so open….”

and he just did it again.

by Wes Cox on Nov 16, 2008 5:17 PM CST up reply actions

I didn't know Zach Randolph shoots threes

I know he tries to…I am reminded of that awful possession by him that’s on Youtube somewhere, with the And 1 dribbling and he chucks an airball three…still makes me laugh

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 5:18 PM CST reply actions

I know, it's so funny

Because even the commentators didn’t know what he was thinking out there and Isiah had this classic expression on his face, haha

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 5:20 PM CST up reply actions

I love seeing Green

Run to the basket right after a teammate shoots…always looking for the board

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 5:20 PM CST reply actions

What the hell

That shot by Singleton…the ball didn’t even move around

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 5:23 PM CST reply actions

There we go, Dirk

Aggressive move instead of a jump shot…and 1, too

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 5:26 PM CST reply actions

Randolph

Has to miss eventually

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 5:27 PM CST reply actions

Oh my God

What happened in that possession there

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 5:28 PM CST reply actions

Not bad

Down only by 9 and the Knicks are shooting it so well…you have to figure they’ll cool off eventually. We just need to defend better and finish at the rim…the usual stuff.

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 5:36 PM CST reply actions

I wonder why he was first off the bench to replace Damp

Carlisle no longer trusts Diop after his poor defensive (and offensive) showing on Friday?

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 5:40 PM CST up reply actions

Timeout, good

maybe that lineup will be over now.

www.mavsmoneyball.com

by Wes Cox on Nov 16, 2008 5:43 PM CST reply actions

It wasn't too long ago

when the second lineup was like Devin/Stack/Quis/Van Horn/Diop.

Our guys right now are just a group of scrubs, and I’m afraid it now includes Bass.

by ptrck on Nov 16, 2008 5:45 PM CST up reply actions

ugh

look forward to our lottery pick…oh wait..

Obama vs Palin in 2012. bring her on!

by gossamer on Nov 16, 2008 5:44 PM CST reply actions

Not player too well until now, huh?

Well, the Blazers had to make a comeback in the fourth yesterday against the Wolves, too. Everything’s posssssiiiibuuuuulllee as KG would say.

by Norsktroll on Nov 16, 2008 5:50 PM CST up reply actions

The Wolves are surprising me so far this season

They have been challenging a lot of the tougher teams…not sure how much noise they’ll make, but maybe they won’t be as bad as last year

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 5:52 PM CST up reply actions

Yet another missed layup

Thankfully Singleton was able to follow through

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 5:57 PM CST reply actions

Take it to the rack, guys

I have to say it every night…but they really have to do it against the Knicks. They only have one big in Randolph and Nate Robinson is not even six feet tall

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 5:59 PM CST reply actions

It feels like we

are losing by so much more than 8.

www.mavsmoneyball.com

by Wes Cox on Nov 16, 2008 6:01 PM CST reply actions

I know

I feel like we’re down by 15 or 20…it’s such an uphill battle.

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 6:01 PM CST up reply actions

Man

Too bad Dirk didn’t make that shot…again, at the rim, but it was contested. That could have cut it to three.

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 6:06 PM CST reply actions

Yeah, definitely

I love David Lee…I think he was the only one who was playing with any heart last season during the whole Isiah mess.

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 6:07 PM CST up reply actions

You're right

That would have been sweet, though

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 6:09 PM CST up reply actions

I did it

I watched Quantum of Solace last night…did anyone else see it?

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 6:09 PM CST reply actions

There were a lot of action sequences

But I didn’t think it was overly violent.

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 6:13 PM CST up reply actions

I went in with the mindset that it won't be better than Casino Royale

Because it’d be pretty hard to top that film. I thought QoS was a good movie…the plot was sort of murky, but that might just be me. I liked the female lead, Olga Kurylenko…I’ve never seen her before. Daniel Craig was super hot, as always.

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 6:18 PM CST up reply actions

Woah, that is so cool

Haven’t seen the film yet. And Roger Moore? Please, he’s the worst Bond as far as I’m concerned.

by ptrck on Nov 16, 2008 6:14 PM CST up reply actions

Bob Ortegel

should retire the tie he is wearing tonight.

www.mavsmoneyball.com

by Wes Cox on Nov 16, 2008 6:21 PM CST reply actions

Sooo

will Diop or Damp see the floor in the 2nd half?

www.mavsmoneyball.com

by Wes Cox on Nov 16, 2008 6:31 PM CST reply actions

Bass

Right idea, but you have to finish those!

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 6:39 PM CST reply actions

Damn it, Josh!

Why pass it back out when you’re in good position under the basket?

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 6:41 PM CST reply actions

Bad call!

There better be a makeup call here

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 6:42 PM CST reply actions

Oh, come on!

That’s a charge! Palmer sucks!

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 6:46 PM CST reply actions

Good move by Barea

Please make both free throws

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 6:48 PM CST reply actions

Barea

I think

www.mavsmoneyball.com

by Wes Cox on Nov 16, 2008 6:49 PM CST up reply actions

Barea

But he often wears stupid short lengths, and Robinson has more hops

by Norsktroll on Nov 16, 2008 6:50 PM CST up reply actions

Oh, come on

Don’t tell me we’ll get burned by two calls in this quarter

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 6:50 PM CST reply actions

That obvious offensive goal-tending no-call

should be UN-no-called. I’ll be damned if that haunts us at the end.

by ptrck on Nov 16, 2008 6:51 PM CST reply actions

Dirk might need to score 40+

Or the team collectively can just play better defense…the Knicks found their shooting touch again

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 6:59 PM CST reply actions

Damn it

Someone shut Duhon down, now

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 7:01 PM CST reply actions

Antoine Wright

stop shooting

www.mavsmoneyball.com

by Wes Cox on Nov 16, 2008 7:03 PM CST reply actions

Travel on Howard

But guys like Iverson and James take that huge step all the time

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 7:03 PM CST reply actions

He does

It happened sometime in the third, since at the half he had 26 and now he has 28. Unless those two points came from FTs.

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 7:05 PM CST up reply actions

Bass

would have had to really mess up to miss that one

www.mavsmoneyball.com

by Wes Cox on Nov 16, 2008 7:07 PM CST reply actions

Yes!

And one for Josh, good job by Dirk passing it right back

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 7:13 PM CST reply actions

Good break

BASS, THAT WAS A F’N DUNK!!!

by ptrck on Nov 16, 2008 7:15 PM CST reply actions

Holy shit!

We actually have a chance to win this!

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 7:17 PM CST reply actions

geez

www.mavsmoneyball.com

by Wes Cox on Nov 16, 2008 7:17 PM CST reply actions

I just screamed bloody murder here, haha

My throat hurts…and this is just a regular season game against the Knicks

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 7:17 PM CST reply actions

Josh has been impressive...

…I love his hustle – all the Mavs are fighting hard

by dirk41 on Nov 16, 2008 7:19 PM CST reply actions

OT

I need to see that final sequence again

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 7:20 PM CST reply actions

that was it?

That was like a Don Nelson special.

www.mavsmoneyball.com

by Wes Cox on Nov 16, 2008 7:20 PM CST reply actions

Carlisle said something to Terry

so did Popeye. I don’t think that was the play. lol

by Beasticon on Nov 16, 2008 7:22 PM CST reply actions

Carlisle probably wanted to wipe the bad taste from Terry...

..by letting him take the final shot again. But yeah, a drive and dish would have been better.

by dirk41 on Nov 16, 2008 7:23 PM CST reply actions

Dirk back to the line

Seems like forever since he’s been there

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 7:23 PM CST reply actions

That one on Bass

Is more of a charge than the other one

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 7:26 PM CST reply actions

sweet

www.mavsmoneyball.com

by Wes Cox on Nov 16, 2008 7:27 PM CST reply actions

Haha

Dirk is totally fired up

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 7:28 PM CST reply actions

15-0

since 2:08 in the 4th

www.mavsmoneyball.com

by Wes Cox on Nov 16, 2008 7:29 PM CST reply actions

Yay

I think the Knicks gave up after that last miss

www.mavsmoneyball.com

by Wes Cox on Nov 16, 2008 7:32 PM CST reply actions

Nice to beat the coach with three first names

Maybe this will be the launching pad we all thought the SA win would be

by dirk41 on Nov 16, 2008 7:35 PM CST reply actions

Yes!

We won! And I love how they don’t act like they won the Finals either, like some teams (ahem, Boston) when they beat a team in a close game

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 7:36 PM CST reply actions

Diop must be happy

A NYC trip, hefty payday, no sweat, and a win.

by ptrck on Nov 16, 2008 7:38 PM CST reply actions

I was wrong

Dirk didn’t need to score 40+, but I’m grateful he didn’t have to. That means he got a lot of help…Josh did great tonight (double double for him too) and Singleton was pretty competent during his time on the floor. Terry did well and Barea hit some big threes in the latter stages.

I do have to wonder about Green and Damp disappearing, though.

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 7:40 PM CST reply actions

Carlisle played without a center for the whole second half

After they couldn’t stop Randolph, he probably figured he would rather try to pull their big men out with Dirk and another forward.

by Norsktroll on Nov 16, 2008 7:42 PM CST up reply actions

Carlisle's thinking worked

In theory, it’s right. Randolph doesn’t play any defense anyway, so match him with Bass. Bass can’t defend either but at least he’s as quick and can score.

But boy had we lost this game, I guarantee people would be bitching about small ball, Carlisle not playing a center, him being the second coming of Avery, etc.

by ptrck on Nov 16, 2008 7:46 PM CST up reply actions

That makes sense

But it doesn’t explain Green’s absence.

by Marie on Nov 16, 2008 7:52 PM CST up reply actions

WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

yayyyyyyyyyyyy and i didnt even know we were playing!

go colts go mavs!

by zkmavz on Nov 16, 2008 8:56 PM CST reply actions
