Randolph to Dallas?
What the hell?!
After dealing Jamal Crawford to the Warriors for Al Harrington, the Knicks are working on a trade that would land Zach Randolph in Dallas.
Jerry Stackhouse has expressed a desire to be traded but his contract is half the value of Randolph's deal.
Unless another player is thrown into the trade, there is a possibility that the Knicks will recruit a third team to make the Randolph deal work.
The Clippers, however, are still hoping to acquire Randolph for Tim Thomas and Cuttino Mobley.
"I don't discuss trade speculation," Mavs president of basketball operations Donnie Nelson told the Dallas Morning News.

Maybe something like this
Knicks get : Stackhouse, Bass, and Tim Thomas
Dallas get: Kaman
Clippers get : Randolph.

Randolph is a beast, hope we get him.
The only reasonable trade I can see us doing that works would be Terry, Stackhouse for Randolph though.
Another possibility is Malik Rose and Randolph for Stackhouse and Dampier.

what?
You want RANDOLPH? Zach Randolph? Zachary Randolph?
What position do you expect him to fill? He’s Dirk, with some fat, less intensity, and not as many offensive weapons. He’s an offensive black hole, when the team is full of offensive black holes.
Jeez… be happy it never happened. Be very happy. Randolph is one of the last guys the Mavs need.

Rose and Randolph for Stack and Damp would be GREAT.
I hated Rose when he played for the Spurs, but he’s the type of intensity guy we need.

Rose would be the definition of "filler"
Plus, NY isn’t going to take on 3 years of $12 milly cap space.

I think the only way we get Randolph is if...
a 3rd team is involved (Clippers). Here’s the trade mentioned on theknicksblog.com:
NYK receives: Jerry Stackhouse, Marcus Camby
DAL receives: Zach Randolph
LAC receives: Josh Howard, Mardy Collins
I’m not too nuts about bringing Randolph into the mix because he’s gonna take shots away from Dirk and he’s far from a team player.

Randolph can ball a little bit, and it would take some pressure off Dirk. But that dude jacks up shots with “dumbass” written all over them sometimes. RIsky move, but if he plays reasonably well in Carlisle’s system then our starting 5 would be:
Randolph
Nowitzki
Howard
Green
Kidd
That COULD be a very explosive offense. Kidd will finally have someone to feed down low and Dirk can play with less double-team coverage.
hope we keep Diop, Terry and Bass.

No Randolph...
This just in…
Sources have confirmed the Daily News report that the Knicks have sent Zach Randolph to the Clippers for Tim Thomas and Cuttino Mobley, were waiting on confirmation about Mardy Collins, as we’d think it would be two-for-two. But that hasn’t been confirmed.

I don't think they do,
I think they did it, so that they can trade Kaman and still have 2 big men.

Camby's health
I have doubts they’ll trade Kaman considering Camby’s getting up there in age and he’s also very injury prone.
If anything they’d trade Camby and have a backcourt of Randolph and Kaman.

Why'd they trade for Camby then?
No new developments from the trade til now.

The link didn't work, so I have to spell it out.
Dallas gets: Ben Gordan, Andres Nocioni, Larry Hughes, Jared Dudley, Adam Morrison, Chris Kaman.
Clippers get: Josh Howard.
Bobcats get: Diop
Bulls get: Erik Dampier, Jason Terry, Jerry Stackhouse.
I have witnessed time and time again.

The only contracts we would have past next season would be Kaman and Nocioni.
That’s a lot of cap space. The Clippers would take Howard for Kaman and the Bobcats might take Diop for just Dudley and Morrison, really though, I would let the Bobcats have Diop for free if it was possible. The Bulls are not resigning Gordon and Nocioni has a long contract for a guy that comes off the bench for them, and Hughes aint doing much for that amount of money. They would get Terry, who is just like Gordon and they get Dampier to replace Drew Gooden, who is a free agent this year. I threw in Stackhouse to make the salaries work. After next season they would only have Nocioni under contract, with the trade they would have Dampier and Terry.
I have witnessed time and time again.
