Great

Stuck with Jeff Van Gundy

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 9:34 PM CST reply actions

I don't, actually

I mean, he’s okay at times, but other times I can’t stand his comments

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 9:36 PM CST up reply actions

Gah

with each game I’m regretting my decision to deal Bosh and R-Jeff for Deng and Al-Jeff in one roto league more and more.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 9:38 PM CST reply actions

Brilliant

Going to see if one works.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 9:39 PM CST up reply actions

Damn

of the justin.tv streams:

-One is Spanish
-Two don’t work
-One is English but waaaay behind

I’ll have to use Spanish.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 9:45 PM CST up reply actions

We need to

start well and keep going. A full 48 minutes is the only way you beat Lakers.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 9:40 PM CST up reply actions

Van Gundy talking about how Dirk takes less threes

The thing is, I don’t think he’s been shooting well from downtown

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 9:41 PM CST reply actions

Lol

One stream is ESPN espanol. LOS MAVERICKS!

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 9:42 PM CST reply actions

God dangit

Bynum gets an and-1 but Kidd shoves it down the Lakers throats with a three.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 9:44 PM CST reply actions

I want to punch

the Radman right in the middle of his freaking goggles.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 9:51 PM CST reply actions

Down 10 already

It happened so quickly…we were leading at one point

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 9:51 PM CST reply actions

Nice Deavean

outhustled by the Radman.

Why did we sign you again?

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 9:52 PM CST reply actions

Holy crap

Odom and his verbal flops are way over the top

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 9:53 PM CST reply actions

Boom

Jet steals and dunks.

Seems like Dirk is having his way with those fakes.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 9:54 PM CST reply actions

I read that Stack didn't make the trip

If/when Stack leaves the team, I just hope it doesn’t end bitterly. I don’t have anything against the guy.

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 9:56 PM CST reply actions

Random question: When are the Mavs going to wear the Green jerseys?

Not that I miss them, but it’s been a while. Kidd’s never been in one.

by ptrck on Nov 28, 2008 9:56 PM CST reply actions

I liked

the 03-04 silvery “trash-bag” ones.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 9:57 PM CST up reply actions

I hated those!

And the green jerseys as well, so I’m glad they haven’t worn them.

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 9:58 PM CST up reply actions

I really

want us to get over .500…

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 9:58 PM CST reply actions

FUCK YOU KOBE

having a big game only against the Mavs.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 9:59 PM CST up reply actions

Kidd

again draining the trey.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 9:59 PM CST reply actions

Damn it, Bass

He was out of bounds…otherwise that would have been awesome

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 10:00 PM CST reply actions

JJB is in the game

We are soooooo gonna win this one

by ptrck on Nov 28, 2008 10:00 PM CST reply actions

Damn it

That basket counts…it was a great play by the Lakers, I have to say

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 10:02 PM CST reply actions

JJB!

gets in the lane and ties it with a floater.

Then Gasol sinks a freaking buzzer-beating three.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:02 PM CST reply actions

I completely

missed that last part. JJB went in and scored, but I wasn’t sure whether the score was tied or we were down by 1.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:04 PM CST up reply actions

Dirk needs to start

schooling Gasol like he did all those years when Pau was in Memphis.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:03 PM CST up reply actions

except

these threes are gonna stop falling eventually…whereas they are driving and getting points in the paint

by ETBURyan on Nov 28, 2008 10:04 PM CST up reply actions

Spurs looking

dangerous again, with Manu back.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:06 PM CST reply actions

Odom yells so much now

He acts like he’s getting murdered or something

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 10:06 PM CST reply actions

Come on

That should have been a jump ball

I can’t believe that turnover though

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 10:07 PM CST reply actions

Bass

sinks the shot.

HOLY SHIT, WE LEAD!

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:08 PM CST reply actions

Sagana

stuff a weak Farmar layup. Bad shot decision.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:09 PM CST reply actions

Jet

heating up. I think.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:10 PM CST reply actions

Stop kicking, JET

that’s not gonna work anymore….and way to halt the momentum.

by ptrck on Nov 28, 2008 10:11 PM CST reply actions

was it really a charge or

have the refs already decided that the Kobes are the champs?

by ETBURyan on Nov 28, 2008 10:14 PM CST up reply actions

Okay basically

if Kobe or Wade or Bron took it, it’d obviously be a defensive foul.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:15 PM CST up reply actions

Our bench

Is outscoring the Lakers’ bench so far, and they have a deep bench

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 10:12 PM CST reply actions

You can't say

that our bench is that much worse than theirs. It’s just much more inconsistent.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:13 PM CST up reply actions

Well

after supersub Terry.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:13 PM CST up reply actions

I'm glad

it’s Spanish now, considering listening to JVG isn’t exactly better.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:16 PM CST reply actions

Wooooow

a big teeeeeardrop by JJB>

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:17 PM CST reply actions

6 offensive boards by Bynum

Lakers shooting 33%, and still only down by 3.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:19 PM CST reply actions

JJB has been good so far

He’s like a Mini going at it with Monster Trucks out there

by ptrck on Nov 28, 2008 10:19 PM CST reply actions

JJB

spin move and banks it in.

Reminding me of NIck Van Exel.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:21 PM CST reply actions

Wow

www.mavsmoneyball.com

by Wes Cox on Nov 28, 2008 10:21 PM CST reply actions

Then

it should be Thanksgiving before every Mavs game.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:23 PM CST up reply actions

Thats it

starting feeding that boy turkey and stuffing…or was it the pumpkin pie

by ETBURyan on Nov 28, 2008 10:24 PM CST up reply actions

Hmm

I liked the old Lakers stadium lighting better.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:27 PM CST reply actions

That looked pretty funny

Dirk, Kidd, Pau, and Kobe just hanging around at the basket, dribbling and shooting

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 10:29 PM CST reply actions

Yeah

made me laugh. Dirk sinks some shots, Pau wants the ball, Kidd gives it to home as if they’re going to play 2-on-2.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:30 PM CST up reply actions

Then

during the inbounds play. Kobe’s right up in Kidd’s face, trashtalking I’m guessing.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:30 PM CST up reply actions

what the

are they giving it to the lakers?

by ETBURyan on Nov 28, 2008 10:29 PM CST reply actions

ok

got it…shot clock

by ETBURyan on Nov 28, 2008 10:30 PM CST up reply actions

The Radman

shoots a three that misses awesomely.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:33 PM CST reply actions

Ooooooh....

That Jet three was sooooo close.

And Kidd faked the guy out of his shoes…he’s a 3pt threat now apparently.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:34 PM CST reply actions

i dont think we couldve asked for a better start

In reference to how good the Steelers have been in their history: "No one is even close to them."- Steal Home

by MayurP on Nov 28, 2008 10:35 PM CST reply actions

Halftime discussion

which bench player (other than terry) is going to be the most consistent in doing his job…for the sake of the game we will say that anyone starting at SG is a bench player since that has changed around so much

by ETBURyan on Nov 28, 2008 10:38 PM CST reply actions

or I

will just sit and talk to myself

by ETBURyan on Nov 28, 2008 10:40 PM CST up reply actions

Also

seems like everyone on our bench can come off and contribute on different days.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:41 PM CST up reply actions

I would love for it to be

JJB, but I think Diop can be more consistent…not at scoring, but at rebounding and dirty d…but will he? I don’t know

by ETBURyan on Nov 28, 2008 10:43 PM CST up reply actions

It seems

that some confidence was given to them after the close LAL game…but only against LA.

We seem to know we can compete with them

by ETBURyan on Nov 28, 2008 10:46 PM CST reply actions

Anyway

so far, what’s been the consensus on Green’s D?

Seems like he’s shown flashes of good D.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:48 PM CST reply actions

I mean

I remember in the last meeting against LA, he played a few good sets of D on Kobe where he didn’t bite on fakes, contested shots and such. Other times…

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:51 PM CST up reply actions

JJB

Starting the third quarter…interesting

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 10:54 PM CST reply actions

Damn it

Timeout because we can’t inbound.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:55 PM CST reply actions

Not a bad play

The shot just didn’t go in

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 10:56 PM CST reply actions

Nash and Mike Finley for me

I haven’t been watching the Mavs that long to appreciate the older players

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 10:57 PM CST up reply actions

Steve Nash

not even close.

www.mavsmoneyball.com

by Wes Cox on Nov 28, 2008 11:09 PM CST up reply actions

I take it a little off

since he was a little too injury-prone for my liking, but I guess that was because he drove to the rim A LOT.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 11:10 PM CST up reply actions

Wright

gets the dish from JJB and knocks down a trey./

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 10:57 PM CST reply actions

Lead is 11

don’t blow this, please

by ptrck on Nov 28, 2008 10:58 PM CST reply actions

Woah

Gasol’s arms are so damn long.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 11:04 PM CST reply actions

SUCK IT KOBE

Dirk goes over him for an and-1

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 11:04 PM CST reply actions

Wow

seems like N’Awlins are struggling. They’re only 9-6, probably 9-7 after tonight.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 11:07 PM CST reply actions

Fine

9-6 after tonight.

I gotta do more research.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 11:08 PM CST up reply actions

Dirk

Getting to the line

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 11:10 PM CST reply actions

Woah

did I see 39 fast break points?

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 11:13 PM CST reply actions

Shit!

This is reminiscent of the game at Dallas!

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 11:15 PM CST reply actions

Weird, but...

Didn’t it seem like we lost the lead when JJB sat down?

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 11:16 PM CST reply actions

Not really

Dirk stepped up, but they can’t miss.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 11:17 PM CST up reply actions

Come on guys

we just need another spark.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 11:20 PM CST reply actions

Or the Jet

clutch engine to turn on.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 11:20 PM CST up reply actions

Was Rudy seriously hurt?

I saw he did something to his ankle

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 11:22 PM CST up reply actions

Nope

Hit the free throws, and walked it off in the quarter break

by Norsktroll on Nov 28, 2008 11:23 PM CST up reply actions

Whew

I saw him ice the FTs, but I had to change the channel due to the game

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 11:23 PM CST up reply actions

Terry misses the tech

Which they didn’t even show, since ESPN just had to reply the Bynum dunk four times

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 11:25 PM CST reply actions

And that

is why you don’t rely on the jumpers.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 11:27 PM CST reply actions

also not a “forced” turnover

www.mavsmoneyball.com

by Wes Cox on Nov 28, 2008 11:29 PM CST reply actions

Thank you Terry

man we needed that

by Wes Cox on Nov 28, 2008 11:29 PM CST reply actions

Just a two for Terry

Foot or feet on the line there

by Marie on Nov 28, 2008 11:29 PM CST reply actions

ugh

by Wes Cox on Nov 28, 2008 11:37 PM CST reply actions

A disturbing pattern

in the last two games against the Lake Show.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 11:51 PM CST up reply actions

As in

nice lead halfway through third, slips near the end of the third, go behind early in fourth, they break away, we tempt hopes of a comeback but nothing happens.

by jonthefon on Nov 28, 2008 11:52 PM CST up reply actions

Kareem sitting behind the Lakers bench

looked like he was about to fall asleep

www.mavsmoneyball.com

by Wes Cox on Nov 28, 2008 11:51 PM CST reply actions

The Mavs have done it again

This game was looking SO promising. And out of habit, they blow it big time. I thought they were over that? Guess not.

Back to Below500Land once more.

by ptrck on Nov 28, 2008 11:57 PM CST reply actions

I HATE!

the announcers on ESPN…they didn’t have a single good thing to say about the Mavs

by ETBURyan on Nov 28, 2008 11:57 PM CST reply actions

ESPN's frontpage

also talks about how the Lakers “cooled off” the Mavs shooters and their offence was “too hot to handle”. It was for about one quarter.

by jonthefon on Nov 29, 2008 12:03 AM CST up reply actions

Well, that was fun for like three and a half quarters

This is a disturbing pattern that I really thought they’ve corrected, especially after coming from behind in NY and Indiana.

by Marie on Nov 29, 2008 12:02 AM CST reply actions

It's Lakers though

they are a much better machine than Indy or NY.

by jonthefon on Nov 29, 2008 12:04 AM CST up reply actions

I realize that

But the team has talked about confidence coming into this game, and I don’t know, I just think they could have done a better job defensively instead of letting the Lakers go on that huge run

by Marie on Nov 29, 2008 12:05 AM CST up reply actions

Was that when Devean George was in the game?

I know it’s a tough job to stop the Lakers, but he looked pretty useless, while Wright at least bothered Kobe

by Norsktroll on Nov 29, 2008 12:07 AM CST up reply actions

That could be

I am still wondering why he was so upset at one point in the game

by Marie on Nov 29, 2008 12:11 AM CST up reply actions

The defence

was decent enough not to warrant that run. They were hitting everything.

by jonthefon on Nov 29, 2008 12:07 AM CST up reply actions

Also

the other problem: offensive rebounding. We were monstered on the glass.

by jonthefon on Nov 29, 2008 12:07 AM CST up reply actions

Understandable

Given their size and athleticism

by Marie on Nov 29, 2008 12:10 AM CST up reply actions

I'd say a good stretch for aim for

is to aim for something like 13-3 to end the year. That would be pretty good.

by jonthefon on Nov 29, 2008 12:03 AM CST reply actions

Again, we might've relied on the J a little too much

I understand they were falling, but when they went cold they didn’t draw fouls. The Mavs only shot nine free throws as a team

by Marie on Nov 29, 2008 12:08 AM CST reply actions

Kidd

Two boards away from a triple double, according to the boxscore

by Marie on Nov 29, 2008 12:10 AM CST reply actions

Is it safe to say

That Josh was missed tonight?

by Marie on Nov 29, 2008 12:12 AM CST reply actions

No.

We’ve looked fine without him. We just couldn’t do anything in crunch time (the real crunch time, not when jet was forced to bomb threes.)

by jonthefon on Nov 29, 2008 12:14 AM CST up reply actions

Well, it was fun chatting with you guys

Now I’m off to watch It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia…I need some humor!

’Til tomorrow…

by Marie on Nov 29, 2008 12:17 AM CST reply actions

At some point in the second half one of the announcers said Howard was out.

When he said that, I had actually forgotten that Howard played for us. I’m not saying that to be funny, I’m saying it, because I don’t think that we need Howard to win against lesser opponets, which we just proved with those 5 wins in a row, and I didn’t miss him in this game after I remembered that he played for us.

I have witnessed time and time again.

by srdmad on Nov 29, 2008 12:54 AM CST reply actions

Did you

also remember that Jason Terry is playing very consistently (which probably won’t last) and you can’t expect JJB to give you almost a double double. You can’t get 24 from Wright but once a year.

I am all for giving J-ho in a trade if the price is right, but people are playing him down right now. We shouldn’t deal now. We should wait until he is looking good (possibly an All-Star candidate) then we pull the trigger.
