And....
The Hornets lost to the Bobcats.. our division looks to be within our grasp tonight, as the rockets were handed their second loss by the blazers in a thrilling finish last night.
Can I discuss the Nets/Pistons game
Since I"m watching it right now…and I’d also like to add how much I miss Devin. He has a new career high tonight (37 right now with 18.6 left to go) and he took over the third quarter, attacking the rim and drawing fouls. He got to the foul line so many times 22 times, making 19 free throws.
Speaking of ankles
Tony Parker is out 2 weeks. This must really suck for the Spurs, and for Tony himself of course. Guy’s having a monster start to the season.
Boom shakalaka.
I don’t know whether to feel sorry for the Spurs or to mock the worst of their fans.
I think I'll be sick again
if the Heat make the playoffs – then there’ll be fanboys all over the place sucking Wade’s nutbags.
They just confirmed
McDyess is going to waivers. Do you think Mavs have any chance of getting him? I’m not sure he’d be completely necessary though.
Who
posted that thing on Kidd’s assist-to-TO ratio? Just curse dhim, he turned it over on the first poss.
Hubie Brown
is going to run through his stat sheet in the first 6 minutes of the game. Every other word he says is a number
www.mavsmoneyball.com
No doubt.
They oughta hammer the ‘painted area’.
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 7, 2008 9:55 PM CST up reply actions
Yeah, Hubie just said
Dallas should be able to get to the basket whenever they want tonight
www.mavsmoneyball.com
I'm pretty sure....
that Hubie Brown is incapable of referring to it by anything other than ‘the painted area’.

I hope that ass Baron Davis
gets off his chair soon and starts producing for my fantasy team. Though naturally, I’d take him ruining my fantasy team’s weekly matchup if it comes against the Mavs.
ANOTHER FOUL!
I'm already there.
Drives me insane.

I am drinking strawberry-kiwi juice
But if this game keeps going the way it’s going, I might add a little something to it ;)
come on bass baby
why si that we keep finidn kidd for the 2 seconds left ont he shot clock shot haha
is it bad
that i cant stand seeing wright OR stack ont he floor…im running out of options! where is gerald?!
You're right...
where is Gerald? Or even Shawne Williams? Stack just made two spectacularly bad plays.
Because that's where the food and beverage is.
That’s where the party always ends up, for some inexplicable reason.

I don't like that show
but I love the movie House guest, which USA used to show all the time.
www.mavsmoneyball.com
Slop.
Jason Terry thinks he can pass like Jason Kidd and Kidd thinks he can shoot like Jet.

I'm watching on FSN SW
Is it the commercial where he’s in bed and people on the radio are doubting him?
There's no Hubie Brown drinking game on FSN.
It’s the prudent choice.
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 7, 2008 10:43 PM CST up reply actions
Dammit!
I didn’t even realize it was on FSN.

Must be sad
that the season’s only like, two weeks old and I’m already waiting for baseball (or the Cowboys to come out of their bye week).
wes
ever think about starting a 2nd open thread when one gets really long… they do that on other sportsnation sites im on… (colts)… maybe a 2nd half open thread?
That's when
those things go past 400 or so. I don’t think we’ll quite reach that.
We need more people here.
I don't know, they usually do it at like 500
But if people don’t like them longer than 200 I’ll do whatever.
www.mavsmoneyball.com
my take is
on the nationally televised games which we are almost at 200… i say we start a 2nd half thread… am i crazy?
SB Nation needs a chat feature for game banter.
Forum threads aren’t so great for this, IMO.

Screw this
I’m going off to watch the third season of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia on DVD…again.
Well
here in Australia, they show them at 11:30pm on Sunday night, which isn’t great viewing. They haven’t even shown int he 4th season yet.
Box score.
Mavs with 14 offensive boards already….
I’ll make the call now….JKidd with a triple double tonight.
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 7, 2008 10:53 PM CST reply actions
Sure.
I’ve been drinking already anyway. Btw, I will allow double-digit turnovers to qualify.
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 7, 2008 10:54 PM CST up reply actions
Wow
Damp has three fouls in about a minute’s worth of action.
Time for me to be off, can’t be screwed to watch another half of this crap.
kidd is always open
and i swear at some point someone is gonna have to guard him… cuz he makes the wide open 3/foot on the line 2
what realy sucks is that
dirk is gonna go to the bench soon and were gonna get beaten down with aggie and stack
My kinda gal.
Denver is a great place to find very dark, very delicious beers.

its just the mavs
we always make spares look like all stars… he will get some disease or break a bone in the next month
I hope Carlisle realizes that he's given Stack plenty of chances.
But I think it may be time.
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 7, 2008 11:25 PM CST reply actions
Kidd!
Though I never like it when they rely on him to shoot long range shots…that’s not his game and not how this team should be playing
Too many jumpshots, as always
They can’t get close to the basket in this half while the Nuggets are having their way in the paint
I don't think you would call this a collapse for the Mavs
It would be the other way around which would be nice for a change
Green needs to take it back inside.
He has officially failed the ‘heat check’.
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 7, 2008 11:44 PM CST reply actions
I wasn't going to say anything.
But if you don’t know where it is by now…….
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 7, 2008 11:48 PM CST up reply actions
He's still one dime away.
No reason to wait, though.
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 7, 2008 11:51 PM CST up reply actions
The free throw difference is ridiculous.
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 7, 2008 11:51 PM CST reply actions
Sure.
But just the number of attempts…..Mavs got in the penalty too fast.
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 7, 2008 11:53 PM CST up reply actions
Crap
He was so on track to one up Devin tonight.
Fire Todd Dodge. Seriously. But in the mean time, SUCK IT WESTERN KENTUCKY! 1-8 baby!
Billups misses.
Still a shot.
Fire Todd Dodge. Seriously. But in the mean time, SUCK IT WESTERN KENTUCKY! 1-8 baby!
Come on, Carlisle
This is when you shine. Draw up the best play ever.
Fire Todd Dodge. Seriously. But in the mean time, SUCK IT WESTERN KENTUCKY! 1-8 baby!
does it matter
we will take a bad shot… and i will throw my remote and punch my computer…then my wife will tell me to be quiet… and then iw ill punch pillows… its liek clockwork
Last shot call.
Place your bets, kids. Who’s the hero?
I’m going with JAY EE TEE!!!

That's a tough thing...
Melo perfect so far.. Let’s go JINX
Fire Todd Dodge. Seriously. But in the mean time, SUCK IT WESTERN KENTUCKY! 1-8 baby!
i am going to injure myself this seasob
we suck, we are decent, we are fucking awful, we are badass, we suck…. kill me
this team didn't play well enough to win tonight anyways... lucky to even be in the game tonight with all the bad turnovers
Damn it
I wonder when we’ll stop reverting back to a jump-shooting team, even though the shots were falling at times
Was he trying to?
Looked like he shot it a little hard but it went right in. Oh well, thanks ’melo
www.mavsmoneyball.com
He was sandbagging on purpose.
I’m not calling it again. Ever.
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 8, 2008 12:19 AM CST up reply actions
great inbounds play
not used to that… shot wasnt off in time.. but hell he was open… that is one good thing to take away from this game
Kidd missed the front end of a free throw that would have tied it against the Lakers last year.
When Kidd made that layup I thought of that game immdiately.
I have witnessed time and time again.
If it weren't for our stupidity (the players, the turnovers, the fouls, the Stack), then we win this one. Just look at the freethrows.
Maybe if
Rick Carlisle had played Gerald Green all along we actually would have won, maybe he’ll learn after this. I swear if he doesnt start feeding him serious minutes over stackhouse and wright he should get fired
by Commotion on Nov 8, 2008 12:20 AM CST reply actions 1 recs
Green should be starting at SG.
Him and Kidd could score some major points, just like that dunk.
I have witnessed time and time again.
I don't know about the start...
but he definitely needs more minutes. Stack and Wright just don’t look ready.
Any place we can find a season average for +/- ? Stack’s +/- for the season must be awful…..
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 8, 2008 12:28 AM CST up reply actions
JET plays better when he starts.
Green is an excellent change of pace off the bench. He should be in ahead of Stack and Wright at this point, I think.
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 8, 2008 12:31 AM CST up reply actions
this is going to be the
most frustrating season… and going to turn me into an alcoholic or someone inneed of anger management
lol
For me, at least have the games during the day. Yet Another Frustrating Mavs Loss + trying to sleep = not good
Maybe a team with a big contract player,
but we would have to give up someone to match salary.
I have witnessed time and time again.
Watching the FSN recap
Nene didn’t even strip the ball off Bass. He just totally LOST it. Unbelievable.
Yeah, I know...I was freaking out over here at the idiocy...you just don't make silly mistakes during crunch time
I saw Dirk already at the post. Maybe the plan was for Kidd to get it from Bass, then get it to Dirk.
I think Dirk has two men on him anyway.
As he should have.
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 8, 2008 12:37 AM CST up reply actions
If he's on the 3 point line he will either have 1 man on him or 2,
either someone can make a play, weather it’s Dirk one on one or someone else who would be open.
I have witnessed time and time again.
+1
Also, you should be able to reasonably expect a PROFESSIONAL BASKETBALL PLAYER to be able to at least catch the ball.
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 8, 2008 12:35 AM CST up reply actions
At the end of the game, I want my best players and shooters on the floor.
If the best players miss the shot and the team gets the rebound they can pass it out, if they don’t have a good look.
I have witnessed time and time again.
Makes sense...
but the play was likely to go away from Bass. He was probably just taking the inbounds and drawing a big out of the middle.
I wish I had dvr so I could see it again, but chances are it was going to good shooter.
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 8, 2008 12:44 AM CST up reply actions
It also looked like Bass wasn't holding the ball with a strong grip, like he wasn't going to try and drive.
I have witnessed time and time again.
Still thinking of Kidd's missed free throw
The game was lost in other ways even before that point, but if he’d only made it…
No doubt,
Cheap early fouls got them in the penalty quick.
by DitchThePlaybook on Nov 8, 2008 12:42 AM CST up reply actions
Fo reals.
Any time they can hand it to Baron Davis, it makes me happy.
