Mavs Hornets trade
Whatup Mavs fans? I know most teams don't do inter divisional trades, but I had an idea and I was wondering what your thoughts were.
MoPete, Hilton, and a first for Desagna Diop and Wright.
Our biggest hole right now is at the backup 5, and I think Diop is arguably the best backup center in the association. You get a veteran who can defend and stroke the 3 (Rasual Butler has returned to his better days which makes Mo expendable). I threw in Hilton as a addition just so you don't lose any hieght. Hilton is a good defender, but that's about it. And he fouls too much, which kind of negates his good d. Picture one of the Collins brothers minus 25 pounds, or Chris Bosh, if Chirs Bosh could rebound or score.
There ya go. I'm not sure if this sounds ridiculous. Thoughts?

They wouldn't trade Hilton alone for Diop and Wright.

We don't want other teams to know that Diop isn't very good,
so if they think he is good, just go along with it.

Why would they give up a 1st rounder for 2 sorry players?
And then give up a player they have put a lot of time into developing into a solid rotation peice?

I'm not the guy that the put trade idea up.
He asked what our thoughts were, not the probability of it happening. My thoughts are do the trade, but if you ask me if I think it is going to happen I will say 99% chance it doesn’t happen.
I have witnessed time and time again.

I'm glad you guys like it.
Like I said interdivision trades are really rare these days, and I’m glad y’all think its a steal, but it really comes down to value, and what you need versus what you have. The Hornets are stacked at the wing position. MoPete is a great vet with leadership and character but his skills are replicated with Rasual Butler and James Posey. I’m really excited about the Antonio Daniels pick. He’s a smart guy who played in a similar system. He looks to pass and he can play the pick and roll well. I also think the limited minutes will be really good for him. Our only needs right now are a backup big, and a wing that can score and who can create his own shot.
So, we have a wing we don’t need, and a glaring whole at the 5. Besides that, what would we even use the pick on in 2010? And we don’t have an owner who wants to get to the luxury tax, so how could we afford it anyway? This year, the deepest point gaurd draft inrecent memory, we take one of the seniors who will undoubtedly fall too far down in the draft for some hot fresh young prospect (I’m thinking Collison might fall till the late 20’s), and we get either an undersized 4 who can score and rebound, or a savvy wing who can defend and hit the j (hello Danny Green). Those guys can take a year or two to develop and in the mean time we have all we need except for a wing who can score, and I think we can find one of those pretty easily for what we need (5 points a game in about 13-15 minutes), and until then just use Devon Brown and Julian Wright (who I hope becomes a poor man’s J- Ho).
So yeah its alot, but we don’t need what we are giving, but we do need what we are getting.
