Stat of The Day: Josh Howard Without Dirk
Josh Howard had a monster game yesterday, almost getting a triple double with 29 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists. And it really wasn't even a surprise. With Dirk out, it seems as if Howard always puts up big numbers. And it's not just in our heads...

So what does it all mean? I'm not sure, but I know it doesn't mean Dirk should be out more. Maybe Mike Fisher just has it nailed.
I am still optimistic that one of these days, Josh and Dirk (Jack Johnson and Tom O'Leary) can be a one-two-punching powerhouse. I'm optimistic because Josh once again teased me in Dallas' 98-76 blowout win at LA...
... Josh's issues are now so clear they are no longer subject to debate...
...But God, he's a tease.

I could do without the spike in 3pt. Att.
Hard to argue with the rest of those numbers though. I can’t remember the last time Josh played aggressively for 48 minutes (with Dirk). Seems like he gets off to a great first quarter, leading every announcer in the NBA to comment on Josh Howard’s hot starts, but has a precipitous drop-off in production after the first quarter horn.
stat.....regarding the mavs-clippers game
…their broadcasting-team raised an interesting stat, too.
one of them said that the only person to score more of his points in transition than jason terry is lebron.
the other guy couldn’t believe that. is there a site which keeps track of such things?
for josh howard, well iirc defense was the reason he got on the court in the first place.
i think its all about motivation with him.
more please

Oops, I meant to include that..
I know off the top of my head, Dallas is 6-3 in the games with J5 and without Dirk.
