Gerald Green
i think we should take a look at him, he does have potential and it wouldn't be a risk.....hopefully with this ballclub he could flourish eccspecially playing with Kidd and Avery on his ass about fundamentals....
don't think he's going to be a big contributer or anything, but he has potential and would be a good 15th man at the very least.....and he can develop into our "finisher" off the bench

One one sense, yes
But did either of them really develop here?
I see them both as guys who came in after being undervalued for whatever reason. Both those guys can do a few things very well, though they have some flaws in their games, and were then put into very specific roles by Johnson where they were able to succeed. I'm Cavery's biggest detractor, but even I admit he should be applauded for that. He got value where other people didn't see value.
With a guy like Gerald Green, however, you're not talking about a guy who can do a few things well and just needs to be utilized in a way that plays to his strengths and masks his flaws like Diop. Green is a project. He has the talent to be a truly elite player, but right now he's just not good. To get good he needs a coach who will trust him out on the floor and allow him to grow as a player, even when things go wrong. Avery has too much overbearing soccer-mom in him for that. He just doesn't know how to develop young players and make them better.
Unfortunately while the rest of the league was scratching their heads at Larry Brown's handling of Darko Milicic, Avery was taking notes.

I think he would be

Yeah, no
Why? He has all the athletic talent in the world, but couldn't find playing time on one of the worst teams in the league in the Timberwolves. I've seen him play live twice and let me tell you he is simply LOST all the time. College would've been great for him because it would've forced him to actually learn the nuances of the game.
It's too bad; he has all the physical tools to succeed and I'll be he never makes much of an impact in the league if someone ever picks him up.
