No expectations from me tonight

Obviously I’ll be happy with a win, but I’d rather not get my hopes up in the event that the result is not in our favor. If it’s a loss and the guys played with heart and effort, then I can live with that. No sleepwalking out there, please.

by Marie on Apr 29, 2008 6:06 PM CDT reply actions

Same here

No expectations. Fingers crossed but we’ll see.

by Avery210 on Apr 29, 2008 6:16 PM CDT reply actions

memo

was not received by the Mavs that their jump shots dont work. Unbelievable.

Wont be here much tonight guys. I got a ton of work I am gonna be working on during the game.

Good luck… we are gonna need it

by Toddy on Apr 29, 2008 6:17 PM CDT reply actions

Damn it, Dirk

Can’t miss those, not when you’re that close

by Marie on Apr 29, 2008 6:20 PM CDT reply actions

I know

He really needs to get it going…jumper’s not falling, so I hope he draws some fouls, take it hard to the basket

by Marie on Apr 29, 2008 6:23 PM CDT up reply actions

Too bad that was a turnover from Dirk

It would have been a great pass underneath for Stack

by Marie on Apr 29, 2008 6:22 PM CDT reply actions

Not Looking Good

Has there been one game this season where all of our best players were at the top of their game? Josh is playing much better tonight but Dirk’s struggling.

by dirk41 on Apr 29, 2008 6:27 PM CDT reply actions

I'll take that to the other way around

I actually trust Dirk to right himself.

by Wes Cox on Apr 29, 2008 6:27 PM CDT up reply actions

I know

Imagine a game when Josh, Dirk, Kidd, Terry, Stack, Bass, and Damp are all clicking…

by Marie on Apr 29, 2008 6:28 PM CDT up reply actions

Ok guys, serious question

Do you prefer the table with the team logos with or without borders.

www.mavsmoneyball.com

by Wes Cox on Apr 29, 2008 6:27 PM CDT reply actions

I like it with borders

I hope you keep using the old school logos, too

by Marie on Apr 29, 2008 6:30 PM CDT up reply actions

ha

I do love the old school logos. I’ve kind of been wanting to see a Charlotte Hornets one.

by MeanMr.Mustard on Apr 29, 2008 6:31 PM CDT up reply actions

I considered that actually.

I think I’ll switch it now. Could be good luck.

www.mavsmoneyball.com

by Wes Cox on Apr 29, 2008 6:32 PM CDT up reply actions

I think my favorite old school logo so far

Is the Denver one with the miner guy with the red hair. I never even knew they had that logo.

by Marie on Apr 29, 2008 6:32 PM CDT up reply actions

Without looks good

Love old school logos as well

by Avery210 on Apr 29, 2008 6:31 PM CDT up reply actions

Geez Dirk

he’s really good sometimes

by MeanMr.Mustard on Apr 29, 2008 6:27 PM CDT reply actions

Howard

Where was this all series? Damn it.

by Avery210 on Apr 29, 2008 6:28 PM CDT reply actions

Yeah

I want to know if Dirk ripped into Josh. I hope he did.

www.mavsmoneyball.com

by Wes Cox on Apr 29, 2008 6:31 PM CDT up reply actions

Keeping an eye on the Philly/Detroit game as well

Rooting for the Sixers in that one, so the Magic will have an easier time

by Marie on Apr 29, 2008 6:33 PM CDT reply actions

I've always liked the Magic....

Don’t know why. Maybe because I liked Shaq and Penny as a kid.

by MeanMr.Mustard on Apr 29, 2008 6:36 PM CDT up reply actions

Last night's game was awesome

Atmosphere was crazy…it was so loud I couldn’t even hear the whistles when there were fouls and stops in play. No one got into my “Salvatore sucks” chant, unfortunately.

by Marie on Apr 29, 2008 6:38 PM CDT up reply actions

Ugh

Pargo’s on the floor…and Wright, the secret weapon

by Marie on Apr 29, 2008 6:36 PM CDT reply actions

Nice pass Dirk

At least we’re making them pay for all the double teams

by MeanMr.Mustard on Apr 29, 2008 6:38 PM CDT reply actions

Thank you Mavs

Showing a ton of heart tonight.

by Avery210 on Apr 29, 2008 6:39 PM CDT reply actions

Win or not

I think heart and effort are something that us fans really need to see from them

by Marie on Apr 29, 2008 6:40 PM CDT up reply actions

Yup.

A little lacking on the defensive end, but a solid overall effort so far.

by MeanMr.Mustard on Apr 29, 2008 6:41 PM CDT up reply actions

Darn thought game was at 6:30

turn on my TV and Stackhouse gets an and1

by Sky Hook on Apr 29, 2008 6:44 PM CDT reply actions

We came back from a ten point deficit to tie it

Too bad Pargo had to ruin it with that three there

by Marie on Apr 29, 2008 6:46 PM CDT up reply actions

Stack

Being aggressive tonight and getting easier shots

by Marie on Apr 29, 2008 6:47 PM CDT reply actions

So the Dirks the one thats struggling today?

I’ll take that anyday, when Dirk is “struggling” hes still better than a lot of players when they’re not.

by Sky Hook on Apr 29, 2008 6:49 PM CDT reply actions

I kid of like that as an adjuective.

Not sure what it would mean though. __ is the Dirks.

by Wes Cox on Apr 29, 2008 6:51 PM CDT up reply actions

for example

Person 1:Stackhouse seems to have caught a case of the Dirks today.
person 2: Yes he does seem to be playing extraordinarily well

by Sky Hook on Apr 29, 2008 6:53 PM CDT up reply actions

Don't panic, guys

Don’t let the crowd rattle you…don’t lose composure

by Marie on Apr 29, 2008 6:55 PM CDT reply actions

According to David West

He has never fouled anyone in his life. Sorry, he’s good but f’n annoying.

by Avery210 on Apr 29, 2008 7:00 PM CDT reply actions

This is horrible

Totally lost their composure and panicked, resulting in too many jumpshots, as always

by Marie on Apr 29, 2008 7:03 PM CDT reply actions

Man, that sucked.

They had me going for a little bit.

haha, this team went from “almost” winning the championship, to losing the first round to the warriors, then losing as the 7th seed to NOH. So no playoffs next year? hahahaha

That was a half

I think the Mavs can still do this, but i hope the refs let them. This is looking like the most rigged game I’ve ever seen. We got good efforts from Stack, Dirk (of course), Howard, Bass, and early from Kidd but Mavs can’t forget to play d., drive to the hole, and hit shots. Three game winning streak starts here!

by horns129 on Apr 29, 2008 7:20 PM CDT up reply actions

Thank you

I didn’t want to stoop to his/her level and make a retort. I thought NO fans were classy and better than that; they weren’t coming in here talking up their team and bashing us like Warriors fans did last year, but I guess that is expecting too much.

it’s been fun, guys. Guess it will be an active off-season.

by rassoodocks on Apr 29, 2008 8:31 PM CDT reply actions

I really hope so

Not sure if we need to blow up this team or what, but some changes need to be made.

I guess that players-only practice didn’t quite work out for the guys tonight. There were signs of promise, but they couldn’t sustain it for the whole game.

by Toddy on Apr 29, 2008 9:13 PM CDT reply actions

Can't watch that right now

Too painful. After our loss last year, I boycotted the rest of the playoffs. I doubt I’ll do that this year, though

by Marie on Apr 29, 2008 9:22 PM CDT up reply actions

Wow

Post-game with Dirk was interesting. Acknowledging JHO’s weed debacle as being a distraction and also obliquely questioning the all around effort of the team. He said that he tried to get everyone to play hard but wasn’t able to do it. Was he talking about Josh? Remarked that the team never really clicked post trade.

by Dirkanoid on Apr 29, 2008 9:39 PM CDT reply actions

Wow, indeed

You can always count on Dirk to be honest. Was he asked about Avery and the future of the franchise?

by Marie on Apr 29, 2008 9:49 PM CDT up reply actions

Pathetic

OK,

They put a good effort in at the end…. But come on? I am not one for knee-jerk reactions, but some changes need to be made.

Avery can’t get them over the hump, and they can’t win games that count.

Unfortunately, the Mavs are not in any kind of situation to improve their roster significantly. The Kidd trade and current player contracts will make that very difficult.

I suppose the only answer is to make some coaching changes.

The season just ended, and I am already talking about next year…

by Cabasa on Apr 29, 2008 10:33 PM CDT reply actions

No worries, it's not knee-jerk

With the way the last three post-seasons have gone for us, something has to be done.

by Marie on Apr 29, 2008 10:49 PM CDT up reply actions

Bleh

Just bleh. What is going to happen? It almost excites me. This team is not too good right now. Good thing Kidd’s contract will be expiring. We better not resign him.

by mffeva on Apr 29, 2008 10:50 PM CDT reply actions

A couple of fun ideas thrown out lately...

Suns hire Avery, Mavs hire D’ Antoni. Idea is that the Suns could use some of the discipline and defense that Avery brings and D’ Antoni would love to coach Jason Kidd and bring offensive creativy to the Mavs…

Mavs get rid of Kidd, sign AI…and Dirk can get some of the pressure off his back.

Mavs trade JHo for Gerald Wallace…this was pre-Josh sucking…would take an extra piece now..
