D'Antoni' to the Mavs?
Coaches...
Just read an SI article about D'antoni being done with Phoenix. Just wanna see what others think of replacing Avery with D'antoni. He could help provide the offensive spark we have been lacking...
We have been stagnant on offense. With Kidd, D'antoni could replicate a system he used in Phoenix that could help our offense, while keeping our defense, which is better than Phoenix's.
I'm still not sure Avery should get the axe, but I had previously thought that nobody better or even nearly as good would be available. [update: Avery is gone]
D'antoni seems pretty intriguing though...

why bring back something that we saw didnt work with the Mavericks when Nellie was here, hasnt worked AT ALL for a more talented team than us, and again hasnt worked in GS the past few years either? I think Cuban is smarter than this.
As much as Avery drives us crazy, the coach with three first names would drive us all off the ledge. Mike more so than Avery doesnt develop young guys, relies on old veterans, encourages NO defense whatsoever… how would this make us feel any better? Because he is offensive minded vs defensive minded?
First off, defense wins championships. His style has never won it all, Avery’s has time and time again. Just because he thinks heavily on offense (which is what we needed) doesnt mean he is the right answer for us when he brings all the other same issues we have with Avery.
Suns fans might react to this same knee jerk notion of bringing in Avery, that we are with Mike. But knowing Avery like we do, is Avery’s only weakness is that he doesnt run his offense efficiently? That’s the way Suns fans will look at it. That’s the way anyone who supports the notion of bringing in a Nellie Protege to Dallas is looking at this now. There are much better coaches out there other than him, should we eventually fire avery. I am not sure that is the best choice at this point, but should he go, the coach with three first names is the last person I wanna see here.

Please no
I couldn’t go through next season knowing our “system” gives us zero shot in the playoffs. Too draining…

A list of potential replacements
should Avery get the boot as per Mike Fisher this morning…
By the way, what a long (and very preliminary) list might look like: Mavs assistant Mario Elle, Jeff Van Gundy, Boston assistant Tom Thibodeaux, Detroit’s Flip Saunders, Rick Carlisle, fired Bobcats coach Sam Vincent, Phoenix’ reportedly available Mike D’Antoni and Washington’s Eddie Jordan, who happens to be a "Kidd guy.’’
In no way am I suggesting this… but it wouldnt surprise me if Riley’s name isnt thrown out there also. I cant stand him it all, but wouldnt be surprised if his name somehow gets thrown into this mix.

I would be surprised to see Riley come up.
And I’m a little surprised Fisher didn’t list Del Harris as a possibility.

That's what Sarver is hoping for
so he could save money on the buyout.

I would like to have Carlisle or Harris as the next coach.
Harris was a top assistant with Dallas, and Carlisle did a good job and Indiana, I still don’t get why Indiana got rid of him. It’s too bad the Bobcats are smart and snatched up Larry Brown.
Brandon Webb, do I need to say more?

DEL HARRIS!
Could we do the inverse of fireavery.com, and start up hiredel.com?

snatched up? nice.
I hope Brown does well for the Bobcats, but I’m so glad he won’t be coaching Dallas. He’d probably get sick of it after a year or two and try to extend that record number of teams coached.

For those of you who voted yes I would like an explanation.
