Warriors, Davis Far Apart On Contract
Warriors' PG Baron Davis and the Warriors management are apparently pretty far apart on the details of his contract extension. How far? Apparently far enough that Davis is considering opting out of his final year and becoming a free agent this summer.
Get. Him. In. Dallas. Now.
Trade Jason Kidd. Eat most of his salary if you must. If you drop Davis into the Mavs' lineup, you're looking at a beastly team that will be able to run and defend and work the half court game with anyone else in the West.

I thought I was the only one who hated it.
He looks like he’s a homeless guy.
Brandon Webb, do I need to say more?
Excellent!
Thanks! I couldn’t figure out why it sucked so bad. I think most people hate it. The people I’ve talked to do.
I normally can't stand him either
but I loved him in this. So if he came to Dallas he would have to play in roller skates.

Just what are you thinking.
Fuck no to Baron Davis. Do you have any integrity of the game? Fuck no to him and Fuck Saten no to D-Wade. I don’t know what I would have done had we signed Matt Barnes last year.
Brandon Webb, do I need to say more?
I'm Thinking About Improving And Winning
You’re telling me you wouldn’t want 19.9 ppg, 8.2 apg, 4.5 rpg and 2.0 steals per game at the point who is 29 as opposed to 35?
And I don’t give a flip about Wade or Barnes.

Lets say Baron didn't play for the warriors.
You would rather eat Kidd’s salary and have Baron, instead of Kidd and a free agent.
Brandon Webb, do I need to say more?
Based On Who's Out There In Free Agency
That would be a yes.
None of Duhon, Carter, Iverson, Smush Parker, Jason Williams, Starbury, Arroyo or Stoudemire can bring to the table what Davis does.
I am more hopeful that Kidd will be a better fit in Carlisle’s system since all indications are that Carlisle has a flexible approach to his players’ talents. At the same time, though, I think Davis brings a lot more to the table than Kidd no matter what system you’re running.

Injuries
other than the fact that I (we ALL) hate his whining beard… This last year was the first year in almost 3-4 where he played a full season injury-free… very convenient if you ask me given it was a contract year. Don’t put it past him (like Damp) to pull off a great season like that to get a huge contract… only to start under performing and being injury plagued again.
Also you forgot Arenas as being a free agent, and he brings more upside that Davis does. Unless he already resigned with the Wizards.
Regardless though, Mavs aren’t moving forward with another big name PG… unless we draft and develop him. Kidd is here to stay this next year, and this team has far bigger holes to fill than going after Davis IMO. I think going after a legit starting sg/sf to play along side of Howard (see proposal below), and a back up big man should be our two concerns this off-season… If we somehow manage to get those two things without losing any of the 7-8 who are in contract, we should be in it to win it again…
Daniels for Stackhouse anyone? O’Neal aside, Daniels could start along side his good buddy Josh AND play some back up PG to give Kidd a blow… Also possibly rejuvenating Josh… I am pretty sure the contracts are about the same at 6 mil each… so it wouldnt be a problem there.
Arenas
I’d faint if we could get Gilbert Arenas here, but I have similar injury concerns about him as you rightly do about Davis.
I do hope Carlisle being here might make Dallas more attractive for Jermaine O’Neal, but there’s more injury concerns there, too.

Looks like Davis
is far more interested in heading to the Knicks . Which makes sense than Dallas or any other team to be honest with you. Davis and the coach with three first names would get along great. This seems to be a little more realistic… but would the Warriors do a sign and trade with Marburry?
Why would
they want Marbury?
