Rasheed Wallace Anyone?
Looks as though ol' "sheed" could be on his way out of Deeeeetroit...

If the Pistons break up their vaunted core, Rasheed Wallace may be the first out of town: in addition to exemplifying the team's problems with consistency and frequent complaining to the referees, he's also heading into the final year of his contract, which makes him valuable to teams looking to unload salary
FYI, I dont see them doing a deal for Josh with us, only because they already have a great SF in Prince.

You'd probably have to work something up...
with a third team, but I’d be all for Rasheed in Dallas…
Again, another player that I just see as having many attributes this Mavericks team severely lacks…
Is he crazy? Yeah. Is he stupid at times? Yeah. But he’d be a damn nice complement to Dirk, he’d bring some fire and attitude to this franchise, and he’s not backing down from anybody… He can score on the blocks, he can defend the post… The attitude is a concern, but on a team that has none whatsoever, Sheed could be a real shot in the arm.

And I think they're in a similar situation to the Mavs...
Where they just can’t justify going into next season with the same core… They’ve got to make some kind of move… Just not sure where they go with it…

Oh, hell no to Rasheed.
I do what I can, sometimes more, depends on the situation.

Rasheed to me
carries the same baggage as Artest would… just a taller version of it playing a different position.
Artest would address a much bigger hole on this team than Rasheed would, which is why going after him would make a little more sense… but still. The thought of Rasheed and Dirk together would seriously spread the floor more so than any other front line has before.

I don't want to give up guys like, Howard and Terry.

You wouldn't give up Terry to get Rasheed?
This team can’t go into next season with the same core, you’re going to have to give up somebody…
Rasheed is every bit the player Terry is, probably better. And if it didn’t work out, his contract comes off the books next season. So you’re speeding the rebuilding process along, while making a move to try and give the team a shot in the arm and an injection of energy/attitude…
Not that the Pistons would trade Rasheed for Terry or we could find a third team to facilitate the move, but Terry for Rasheed would seem like a home run to me…

I know we have to trade guys.
I was the one that said this team can’t go into next year the way it is. Trade Terry and Dampier for O’Neal and Daniels. Trade Howard and Stack for Redd and resign Stack after the Bucks buy him out.
1.Kidd 1.Kidd
2.Redd 2.Terry
3.Daniels 3.Howard
4.Dirk. 4.Dirk
5.O’Neal 5.Dampier
Which lineup do you like better? The contracts for Redd, O’Neal, and Daniels are shorter than Howard, Dampier, and Terry.

I'd LOVE this
but I don’t see a match between us and Detroit.

On Sheed
Check out this deal:
Detroit sends to Phoenix:
F/C Rasheed Wallace
G, Rodney Stuckey
Phoenix sends to Detroit:
F/C Amare Stoudamire
I think that deal makes sense for both clubs, though much would depend on how fed up Phoenix really is with Amare, and how they view Stuckey. If they like Stuckey as much as I do, the deal might make some sense. A lineup of Nash, Stuckey, Diaw/Hill, Sheed, Shaq would be pretty freaking good, and they’d have Barbosa, Raja, Diaw/Hill, their DP from the Hawks, plus whoever they sign in FA with their exemption. Sheed would be so beastly in the offense. He’s a deadly shooter, he can actually play some D and his fire would be a good thing on that team. Plus he can’t act too crazy with the big fella around to nudge him in the right direction.
Detroit gets an atheltic young big who can score and rebound like animal and who would challenge Dwight for beastliest big dude in the East.
I still think Phoenix would want something else in the deal (Maxiel, maye?) but I think the deal could help both of them.

"rebound like animal"
Hardly… Marion was their best rebounded before he left… and Shaq (as slow as he is) is STILL better than Amare. He pads his stats too, which is why he even named himself STAT.
But this does seem like a good trade for both teams though… I do remember them looking at doing this last year also when the KG trade stuff feel through.

Yeah, I was gonna say...
Amare is a lot of things, but a monster rebounder isn’t one of them…
For how big, athletic, and explosive he is, 9 rebounds a game isn’t very good… Especially on a team that takes as many possessions a game as Phoenix does and how small the rest of the lineup has generally been over the last couple of years…

In a couple years, what does this team look like.
Shaq, Rasheed, and Nash are already old.

Yup
But when Nash loses it the team will need to completely blow it up and rebuild anyway. They’re looking at a two or three year window, MAX.
Plus with their cheapskate owner, I’d think the idea that Sheed could come off the books after next year might be a plus in this deal.

I don't think
I don’t think they’d want to give up Stuckey so soon. After this season, I think they’re committed to him being part of the next era of Pistons B-Ball.

I don't think they'd want to
But Amare is good young big man who makes them instant title contenders in the East next year. As much as I like Stuckey, I think they’d be crazy if they decided not to do that deal just to hold on to him.

(Hope this post in the right spot)
Monster rebounder. Are you kidding me. 9 rebounds. Does he think he’s Eddie Curry or something. Only try on offense.

This is not quite on topic, but Flip is gone from Detroit.
