Dirk = Weak Mind/Heart ?
Let me start this by saying Dirk is my favorite player in the NBA.
Now let's look at what I want ot say. Simple Dirk will not ever win an NBA Championship!
Why? He reminds me a David Robinson befroe Tim Duncan came along. Think back what did everyone say about him. He lacks the killer drive. The desire to stomp on the oppostion.
Well I feel the same way about Dirk. I think Wade and the Ref's stole his heart. I think that series ruined any chance our Mavs have at a Championship.
I think bringing Kidd back was a huge mistake, we need to trade both Kidd and Dirk and start over. I am sure this will not be popular with this blog but really this is only my thoughts.
Maybe I am ready to give up on my favorite player but who knows. I know Cuban would never trade Dirk so this is a silly post but just me 2 cents.

If Dirk ever has an all-star player on his team, he will win a championship, but he doesn't.
I do what I can, sometimes more, depends on the situation.
Who exactly is this consistent all star that you're talking about?

Maybe I'm wrong
But the more I think about last season, comments made by players in past 30-45 days, etc., I’m starting to really believe the real issue with the Mavs was the coach that just left. I think it speaks volumes about Avery that he was never really considered for any of the high profile coaching gigs. And this is coming from a guy that really liked Avery (see my name).
I certainly don’t fault Dirk. I look at it this way…you take Dirk out of the equation last season and maybe we win 25 games? Plain and simple, this team needs a better offensive system. It was horrendous. Iso plays that everyone else is expecting simply kill any chance you have.
I see your point afl_storm, and maybe you’re correct about Dirk never winning a championship. Perhaps I’m already drinking the kool-aid. But, I’m willing to see what a new system can do for Dirk and Kidd.
Dirk may not win a championship, but it won’t be because of a lack of heart or dedication. Sometimes it just isn’t meant to be and sometimes, the NBA jobs teams out of rightfully winning NBA titles.

The Ref's
Well I have always said that the Ref’s stole teh Championship from the Mavs. It was simple Wade would drive thru the middle stick his knee up in the air and CHARGE and then we would get the blocking call. When Dirk tried to drive he got called for charging. From Game 3 to 6 it was simple the Ref’s called the game in favor of the Heat and that is something that no one will ever be able to change my mind. I really do belileve that series broke Dirk’s spirit. I do agree that it was time for Avery to go. As much as I liked him he was not ready to coach a championship team. Now look at Cuban he let Nash go and now we have Kidd again. Not the best move IMHO.

Just like we stole
the 2005 series from Houston ;)
Anyway, one and a half playoff series doesn’t show Dirk has a supposed “weak mind”. He’s been came up huge all the time before that and was by far our best player during the Hornets series (along with Bass.)
