Around SBN: Clippers Need To Realize That Spurs Are The Anti-Grizzlies

Mavsmoneyball, seems slow.

i don't know about you, but mavsmoneyball seems to have less people commenting on things, so maybe this will get people to comment. My idea for the Mavericks would be to trade for O'Neal, Daniels and the Pacers first round pick using Dampier and Terry. I would then use Howard and that first round pick to get Billups, maybe add Kidd and something else from Detroit. Stucky gets to learn from Kidd and the Pistons get money to resign Rip after next season. Dallas gets a better PG and gets rid of Howard.

Yeah

Sorry I know Wes is busy right now, and I have been swamped as of late and will be out of town all next week (but will be continually checking in.

A note to all: Please feel free to take advantage of these Fan Posts (Preverably with stuff that’s not too opinionated, as I think our front page should be more of topics to be discussed not every individuals opinion.) and if it is written well/ has significant importance to the Mavs and the NBA, Wes, Jake or I will move it to the front page. Fact is though, not much is out there about the Mavs right now, even the pre-draft stuff.

If you find any CREDITABLE trade rumors that deal with the Mavs, post them in the fanshots and I will move them to the front page when I can. Same goes with any new info that you might come across that you dont want to do a write up for and again, we will move them to the front page if its something that hasnt been discussed somewhere else on here. Use the Fanposts for all trade proposals and opening up a topic with an opinionated arguement. If its something that is a new idea and well written, and does not bring up something that has been repeatedly beaten within the threads, I definitely will move it to the front page.

I dont know much, nor do I follow the draft stuff too much, so if someone would like to write up a preview of that, that would be nice. Just let us know if you (whoever) would like to do this, and we set it up on the front page. I plan on opening up an open thread for the actual draft a day before then also. I also will be attending the Rocky Mountain Review again this year, and will report from there what I can. Anyone gonna be in Vegas for that one who could attend that to report the teams play?

I also will open up a Finals open thread, just in case any of you would like to post some things in there relevant to that.

Yeah, I'll take a lot of the blame here

I just really haven’t had the time to post like I would like.

I’m sure if the front page were more active then the commenting would follow, but so it goes.

Why would the Pacers do this?
My idea for the Mavericks would be to trade for O’Neal, Daniels and the Pacers first round pick using Dampier and Terry.
Why would they give up the best player in the trade, plus a Lottery pick to take back a couple of bad contracts?

Maybe without the pick, that gets done. But there’s no way they’re giving you the best player and #11 to take back Damp and JET’s crappy contracts…

honestly

theres nothing going on in mavs land.. no viable trade rumors or anything. I’d rather there not be any posts than lame trade rumors that have no chance of coming true.

if you look at poundingtherock, the only posts being made are about international football.

yeah I saw PtR

thought it was kinda strange, but given the muddy water hole they drink from down there… I dont put anything past ‘em!

At any rate though, there is plenty of stuff to be discussed basketball wise here, if not all Mavs related. The trade rumors are fun, maybe there should just be a section for them all. But with the Draft coming up, I think its fair to say there is much discussion that needs to be had on whether we will buy a pick in the first round, and if so, from whom to go after which player?

by Toddy on Jun 11, 2008 1:52 PM CDT up reply actions

this draft

is not deep enough for the mavs to go after a nice pick. look for nelson and cubes to see what they can get for terry, but other than him my best guess is that our main core stays together

by JayKim41 on Jun 11, 2008 3:12 PM CDT up reply actions

true about the core staying together

but I cant say though we wont make a move to go after someone else’s pick either through a purchase or trade… say late in the first round. I dont see phx selling their pick again this year at 15, as they too are also looking to get younger, but is there someone else out there that would want to at least sell their pick?
