Around SBN: Kobe Bryant Isn't Up To Speed On Jeremy Lin, 'Linning'

Not really a huge surprise here...

The Dallas Mavericks have signed forward James Singleton to a guaranteed contract today, according to his agent.

I would be surprised, and disappointed even if they guaranteed McLeod. From what I saw with his play in the SL, he was below that of Miles, and possibly even Low.

So how many spots are now left on the roster?

It doesn't matter if you win or lose, as long as you come in first.

technically?

two. Here is the roster as it stands now

kidd, jjb
JET, Wright, Jones
J5, Stack Green, singleton
Dirk, Bass
Damp, Diop

Thats 13 spots, with McLeod having “verbal contract”, which I think means its non-guaranteed. Its what singleton had before he offically signed. So depending on your view, it could be 14.

I'll tell ya what

After watching yesterday’s game, I wouldn’t mind it at all if we decided to sign Rhodes. I know it’s only summer league, but he’s looked pretty impressive throughout, especially yesterday. He works his guts out and could bring some much needed toughness to the squad, which I daresay is what we need the most right now. I can see him becoming a pretty solid player.

+1

on Rhodes. He was a beast yesterday(Green was solid, too), although I don’t know how much could he play

You can always find minutes for a player

that busts his butt on every play.

I like him

better than Terry for sure, but if they should sign Rhodes, they are going to have to figure out something to do with Foster is the only thing….

If we did go ahead and sign him, you would have 8 guys at the 2/3 spot… how on earth are they all going to be able to find PT?

Um

Not everyone on the roster gets playing time. If Foster makes this team he almost certainly spends the majority of the season in the DLeague.

For what it’s worth I really like ReTerry and think he can contribute a bit this season. I definitely prefer him over Rhodes.
