Dare I suggest, Artest 2.0?
It's something I always think about," Jackson said from his basketball camp. "It's definitely something that has to be addressed because of what I do for this team and what I've done since I've been here, bringing this team from one of the bottom teams in the league to a playoff team, to a team that won 49 games. It's not what I want, it's what I deserve. "... I won't be comfortable going into this season knowing I have to play this whole season being the fifth highest-paid and not get an extension. I would not be happy."...
Jack hasn't been paying much attention to the Warriors of late if he thinks he -- a 30-year-old bottle rocket who has been great on winning teams and disastrous on losing, stagnant teams -- is getting an extension. Mullin snubbed Baron, Monta and Andris last summer! If there's no gun to his head (as there definitely was with Monta and Biedrins this summer), Mullin's not flinching. So if Jackson isn't getting an extension, and he acts as "uncomfortable" as he says he will be, there's only one other solution: trade him. Maybe it will work out for the best (the Ron Artest booby prize?) but I can't see how it results in making Jack more money next year.
His contract has 2 years left on it, at about 7.5 a year.

An interesting thought...
But again, we probably don’t have anything they’d want…

Bring em out bring em out, er
bring em in bring me in. A 6’8 SG/SF that can, hey, actually shoot. But as previously stated, probably don’t have anything they’d want.
The best rotation lies in the desert.

Though his rebounds seem low at 4.4 or is that because he played with Golden State, a run-and-gun team.

We don't but others may have
how about this trade: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=136829323927454028023083783242&teams=9961791717617&te=&cash=17:6~17:9
I mean it’s a win-win situation for GS and Dallas not sure bout New Jersey though but I mean they get rid of VC’s contract and they get an expiring plus cash so this puts them in a greater position in 2010. Check it out!

You might get New Jersey interested...
A young guy like Bass and over 16 million in money off the books this year… Makes sense in theory, but three team deals are just too damn hard to predict…

yea it is
It is damn hard to predict and judging by don nelson’s relationship with cuban its hard to think we have a chance of dealing with GS but Im still hoping that they look into it, Jackson is the answer we need in the SG position! hes the only realistic player we can acquire without letting howard go

or even this
it can also go something like this: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=171119814028023083783242&teams=9944464&te=&cash=4:6~4:9
tell me what you think of this trade chicago gets money to resign gordon along with expiring contracts and they get rid of kirk hinrich. GS gets Kirk Hinrich who can play the legit Pg and Monta stays in the SG position. they also get inside presence from Drew Gooden! so they can run (hinrich, ellis, maggette) but they also have inside presence (Gooden & Biedrins). And of course we get Stephen Jackson, who can play defense as well as shoot! in the SG position!

regarding the last trade
we get to free up a roster and sign maybe anthony carter or shaun livingston as well as a center!

Dallas gives up too
little on both of those trades IMO. I think there is no way a deal is done that includes stack for a player like Jackson, without at LEAST us having to lose Bass in a deal.
But that last trade is interesting. I wouldnt count on GS giving cash to anyone though, and again I think Bass would have to be thrown in the mix somewhere. Possibly to Chicago. Us just losing Stack and Jones in a deal like that just wouldnt make sense to the other two teams. They could probably swing a better deal either between the two of them, or another team that gave them a little more promise back in return. Bass could very well be that guy though.

yea good point!
well we can include bass or we can include draft rights to players such as reyshawn and foster though I think it’s a long shot but still getting jackson should solve our SG problem. He’s an upgrade to the aging stack, he can shoot, defend and run! I think we can give cash to Chicago if Mark is willing to win it all this year, they should try to give the fact that with it they can resign Ben Gordon, I mean I hope they (Chicago) don’t honestly think that they don’t need the fellow even though he doesnt play defense whatsoever. This also leaves us room for 2 more roster additions
