Not a Mavs fan, but wanted to get your guys take on potential mavs trades.

Z Randolph and J Crawford NYK for Kidd

And/Or

Tinsley and S Williams and filler/sign n trade IND for Dampier

My thoughts are Randolph gets you great bench/breather minutes, because playing on the 2nd unit limits his defense inefficences, while getting you nice bench scoring. Granted these are expensive BENCH minutes, and Randolph may have difficulty accepting this role.

To me Crawford for Kidd is a wash.

All told you take on longer contracts.

The second trade is motivated to get small for big, while taking advantage of IND "chemistry" problems.

The Kidd thing would never happen… its way to early even dream up a scenario in which Kidd would be traded… not because we (fans) wouldnt want to move him, but because the Mavs FO wouldnt pull the trigger on it… yet anyways. Come back to us at the trade deadline, and we’ll have a better assestment of if what Kidd brings to the team is something worth hanging on too.

As far as your tinsley trade goes, with Terry on this team, I think I would find it hard for the Mavericks to go for that deal with him in. Cuz then you have Kidd, JET, and Tinsley all coming in at the PG, with Terry sliding over to the 2 at times.

But with Williams in that deal… that would be very tempting. I actually kinda like that deal… who did you have in mind for that S&T? If we could get Fransico Elson to come in and fill in the back up C position in that deal… I would jump on that in a heartbeat.

I was just thinking a filler of any kind. You would only need about 950k with Tinsley and williams to match dampier salary.

May not be needed...

I think a trade only needs to be within 150% of the incoming vs outgoing salaries… or something to that effect. As long as its not more than 2 million off, I think this trade would be alright.

I wonder if Indiana would be interested in sending (back to) us Daniels?
