Smith signs with Grizzlies

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3525609

Well I still held out some hope, but that has been crushed yet again.

Star-divide

Atlanta Hawks restricted free agent Josh Smith has signed a five-year, $58 million offer sheet with the Memphis Grizzlies, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Friday.

Will the Mavs do anything this summer?  Looks doubtful.  I guess we can all now get our hopes up for the next dissapointment.  I'm sure we will think of all the ways we can get Andre I, just for him to sign with the Grizzlies next week.

Interesting

wasnt Smith not too excited about playing for Woodson or something? I think now that they matched this offer though, the earliest he could be traded is mid December.

They Won't Let Him Go In FA

Atlanta can’t afford to let Smith go in free agency. Losing him would be a serious blow for what little goodwill in the Atlanta community they’ve built up and what little momentum they have after their brief playoff run last year.

What chance, if any

do we have of getting Iguodala?

It doesn't matter if you win or lose, as long as you come in first.

That's what I figured...

So in Mavs terms, long shot=no shot…

It doesn't matter if you win or lose, as long as you come in first.
