Monday 11/23 Roundup
Dallas Mavericks looking to fire up offense | Eddie Sefko - DMN
"Stress is a relative term," he said. "You've always got to be very honest in evaluating your team and how you're playing, whether you're winning or losing. There were times last year when we were playing well and losing. We had to keep that in mind. "This year, in some of the games we're winning, we're not playing as well as I'd like. As far as keeping our eye on the ball, it's got to be about getting better. This is no time for complacency or feeling like we have anything solved because we really haven't."
The Come Up - Monday, Nov. 23 | Jeff Wade previewes the upcoming week of games
Lots of travel for Turkey week. Hopefully Shawn Marion can get back in the mix sometime during this swing. It go a ‘lil summin’ like this…
Dallas Mavericks being careful with development of rookie Rodrigue Beaubois - ESPN Dallas
"I kept talking to him [Beaubois] about momentum in his shot carrying forward instead of backward," Mathis said. "Finally, after about three weeks of working with him and saying the word momentum about 500 times, he said, 'I don't understand momentum. What do you mean?' ... Now, instead of it taking three weeks to ask the question, he'll ask right away." Beaubois has impressed coaches and teammates by picking up the team's defensive concepts pretty well in the early stages of his rookie year

I am going to continue to disagree with esteemed colleagues like Eddie Sefko who over the course of the last two seasons in the Rick Carlisle Era believe there is a key to bad 3-point shooting that must be unlocked. I guess my attempt at wisdom is unconventional, because my I am of a completely different opinion on the subject of Dallas' 3-point shooting: If a team isn't good at making 3's, a team should shoot FEWER of them.

I got spoiled by the MLB schedule
And am not used to 4 day layovers without a game. This is drIving me nuts!
I heard the language barrier with Beaubois has been an issue, it’s really impressive he’s picked things up so quickly.
Greetings from the Humungus, the Ruler of the Wasteland, the Ayatollah of Rock and Roll-A. I laugh at your puny plans.

about the 3 point shooting
I really don’t care, as long as we don’t have any 2 for 22 nights…I think if we’re seeing wide open 3’s and hitting them, fine…but if we aren’t hitting them and are falling behind, start taking it to the hoop with regularity. now – that’s easier said than done unless we have a completely healthy lineup: Howard, Dampier and Marion are 3 of the top finishers at the rim on the team.
funny thing: I remember Marion being a fantasy beast because he did everything, even including hitting 3’s. but I can’t even recall a time this year – not 1 time – where he’s taken a 3. and I like that.

he actually has taken 2
corner threes (good choice because of shorter distance) and missed both. Kinda like Josh Smith….

"There were arms coming from everywhere, and I knew they weren’t going for the ball," Miller said. "I was just trying to get [the shot] up before they called some crap like ‘on the ground.’ "
"What do you want me to do?" Wright asked. "Do you want me to Derek Fisher him?"
"Give them some fucking credit, i mean for real." Jackson said.
"I just fell on my face for no reason," Bryant deadpanned. "I'm a klutz."
"Fucking right i'm preachin' it!" Carlisle replied.
"Rough life, isn't it. It's tough all over, isn't it." Smith chuckled.
