why is adthe so gay?

i can’t find a reliable stream for this game

Marion

Was marion hired for his defense or offense? Can anyone refresh me?

Too much hate?

by JoeyReyes on Nov 30, 2009 8:20 PM CST reply actions

It'll happen soon

Once Erick Dampier firmly establishes that he is, after all, Erick Dampier.

by njd.aitken on Nov 30, 2009 9:19 PM CST up reply actions

I think they should rotate

based on matchups…really it’s the smart thing to do. with Damp in the game, I don’t think Shaq and Varajao would’ve muscled us up as bad the other night.

vs. a guy like Nene, you might go to Gooden to start off as he’s more athletic, but he’ll draw fouls and Damp will likely be needed.

Look at the numbers from last night

Dampier: 1 rebound, 3 points in 16 minutes
Gooden: 10 rebounds, 15 points in 29 minutes

Also, Shaq had 6 rebounds and 9 points (both below his average) on Saturday. Dampier gets too much credit for having a good center’s body that he doesn’t often know how to use.

by JoeyJoeJoeJr.Shabadoo on Dec 1, 2009 9:34 PM CST up reply actions

you must be kidding me

you’re going to use Damp’s first game back from an issue that none of us know about and conclude that he’s useless?

Player A: 65% FG, 18.6 rebounds per 48 minutes, 2.2 blocks per game
Player B: 45% FG, 15 rebounds per 48 minutes, 1.36 blocks per game

Pick a player, any player…

The way the D is playing him I wouldn't shoot either

He can basically get down low at will versus the 6ers D.

by njd.aitken on Nov 30, 2009 9:19 PM CST up reply actions

I bet he's got a mantra

from Carlisle – “you’re not here to shoot the ball – you’re here to receive and slam it home at the hoop.”

I've been beginning to think that as well

I still think he is our 4th best guard so I don’t really have a problem with it, at the moment.

by njd.aitken on Nov 30, 2009 9:20 PM CST up reply actions

yeah ... i hope we see a big game from roddy soon ...

But i think that once Howard is back (if it ever happens) Roddy will go to the D league

by hugommorais on Nov 30, 2009 9:21 PM CST up reply actions

D league?

Mavs don’t have an affiliate (until next year). He’d probably just practice and be in street clothes during games. I just wish Carlisle had a little foresight and realized we need our young guys to get as much experience as possible.

by bbob on Nov 30, 2009 9:26 PM CST up reply actions

I think he will be, but in a contract year...

He sure isn’t giving the front office a lot to be faithful in.

by bbob on Nov 30, 2009 9:29 PM CST up reply actions

I still think we have one of the top 3 benches in the league...

I think if the staff can figure out what combinations to use, and how to manage the minutes correctly they can make a run.

by bbob on Nov 30, 2009 9:35 PM CST up reply actions

a big run ...

a team of Kidd, Josh, Marion, Dirk and Damp/Gooden is a really good one … having terry, hump, barea, roddy, singleton, thomas on the bench … that’s a very good team … I can’t think of better benches than ours but Orlando, maybe Boston

by hugommorais on Nov 30, 2009 9:37 PM CST up reply actions

The Albuqurque Thunderbirds are the Mavs D-League Afiilate (Until next year)

So the Mavs may send Roddy down to them

doubtful

Roddy is quite useful. like Singleton, just because he doesn’t play a lot for a while doesn’t mean we’re done with him. I think Carlisle was upset at him for a few defense lapses, and is teaching him a lesson.

by Walter Sobchak on Dec 1, 2009 11:31 AM CST up reply actions

we don't need Howard back at the moment

it’d be nice, but when we need him is down the stretch and perfectly healthy for the playoffs. I’m fine with the caution.

by Walter Sobchak on Dec 1, 2009 11:29 AM CST up reply actions

I think we need as many athletic defenders as possible..

Though it wont happen, I’d love to see him on Kobe to see if he could step up to the plate.

by bbob on Nov 30, 2009 9:27 PM CST up reply actions

After watching that game where going into the 4th..

he had outscored the entire Mav’s team 62-61, I welcome a new solution.

by bbob on Nov 30, 2009 9:37 PM CST up reply actions

Wasn't that a long time ago?

I didn’t see this season’s Lakers game. Did he do much damage? Who guarded him?

by mg4tx on Nov 30, 2009 9:40 PM CST up reply actions

Yah 06 i think?

The Lakers looked like shit when we beat them earlier this year, Ross Marion and Kidd rotated on him

by bbob on Nov 30, 2009 9:44 PM CST up reply actions

Kobe could finally win a ring w/o Shaq. All he needed was the most one-sided trade in the history of sports.

by mg4tx on Nov 30, 2009 9:54 PM CST up reply actions

that's a joke

without Kobe, they’d barely make the playoffs

"Hang-Dai, Wu...Hang-Fu$&ing-Dai"

by Walter Sobchak on Dec 1, 2009 11:33 AM CST up reply actions

yeah ... anyway, he shoots better than singleton ...

i hate when singleton thinks he is Reggie Miller, and starts bricking 3s … that brings me memory of Devean George

by hugommorais on Nov 30, 2009 9:35 PM CST up reply actions

something to think about...

going into this season replacing singleton, bass, and hollins w/ singleton, humphries, and gooden, I would have laughed at you to think the latter would be more productive…now bass can’t get off of the Magic bench, Hollins gets minutes but avgs like 4 and 4 and singleton still brings a lot of energy when he gets in

by bbob on Nov 30, 2009 9:41 PM CST up reply actions

totally agree ...

I was really worried at who would produce Bass numbers … But hump, singleton and gooden are much better than him … Also, I never liked Bass’s defense … Hump and Singleton can score but play good D

by hugommorais on Nov 30, 2009 9:43 PM CST up reply actions

and we're not really missing Gortat

not saying we couldn’t use him, especially in the future, but we’re not in dire need of post play

"Hang-Dai, Wu...Hang-Fu$&ing-Dai"

by Walter Sobchak on Dec 1, 2009 11:35 AM CST up reply actions

Agreed

Rick falls in love with the 3 guard lineup too much. I want the ball in Kidd, Dirk, or Jet’s hands at this point in the game.

by bbob on Nov 30, 2009 9:49 PM CST up reply actions

pretty tough to say that

without Howard; with Howard available, I’d imagine you wouldn’t see that as much – more Kidd, Terry, Howard, Marion, Dirk

Holy shit

You have to fucking foul on that

by njd.aitken on Nov 30, 2009 9:58 PM CST reply actions

Don't you think

That prayer could’ve gone in.

by mg4tx on Nov 30, 2009 10:11 PM CST reply actions

Why do I have a horrible, horrible feeling about that NJ game?

We’d be the laughing-stock of the NBA if something happens.

Remember to retire Fin's number, Mark.

by jonthefon on Dec 1, 2009 1:20 AM CST reply actions

I missed most of the game since I was asleep but it was on and I would hear mark say Kidd hit some 3's.

I woke up with like 5 mins left in the 4th, and I was about to go off if they lost. But at least they won, Go Mavs!

In the second half, Dallas was outrebounded 31-12.

"What do you want me to do?" Wright asked. "Do you want me to Derek Fisher him?"
"Give them some fucking credit, i mean for real." Jackson said.
"I just fell on my face for no reason," Bryant deadpanned. "I'm a klutz."
"Fucking right i'm preachin' it!" Carlisle replied.
"Rough life, isn't it. It's tough all over, isn't it." Smith chuckled.
