Has any ever thought of at least trying

to put Dirk at the 3 spot, I think it would be cool to see how he could capitalize on the mismatch he could post them up shoot over them. You wouldn't have to worry about him getting beat up in the post, and I think Marion would be more successful, try it once a while in games when playing a great pf and less great sf work the mismatches. It would be interesting to see results, and it would allow Dirk more outside shots, he would also get more chances at the free throwline because smaller weaker guys will have no choice when Dirk has them beat. If it isn't good on defense, just try it as an offensive matchup. It would suprice Don Nelson. It also gives Kidd more assists because when Dirk is passed to he makes his shots.

It'll be interesting to see...

if we ever put Thomas, Dirk, and Damp on the floor at the same time. Go big, run the zone on defense, with Terry and Howard up top, i’d like to see it, anyway

Even better would be Roddy B and Howard up top

That would give us quite a bit of length

Interesting idea

but i feel like, given that dirk’s our best player, the other team would just match up whoever they wanted to defend him anyway (be it a 3, 4, or 5). Maybe it helps on defense, but then again, maybe it creates new mismatches that make matters worse.

it really doesn't matter

when we have Kidd, Howard, Marion, Dirk and Damp on the court at the same time, Marion is essentially a SF on defense and a PF on offense…and Dirk is the PF on defense and SF on offense. Plus you have Howard, who is a SF playing as a SG, actually at an advantage, compared to what some others around here thought. This is the perfect lineup…and when you want to go smaller at the 5 (not necessarily the 3 headed PG monster we’ve seen) you take Damp out and insert Gooden or shift Dirk to the C spot and put Tim Thomas, Quentin Ross, Humphries or Singleton in the lineup. Then you have that 3 headed PG monster; so many possibilities.

I LOVE THIS TEAM…not quite at the “We have Keith Van Horn!” level of the Finals year, but it’s on its’ way there

Dirk at the 3 ain't one

Even if Dirk is at the 3, what stops them from putting a big on him? And defensively do you want Dirk guarding the all-world 3s, hell no.

not all world 3s just ones that dirk can beast against
