Mavs Were Offered B Diddy and Caveman for Kidd?

I may be late to the party here, but just read that Dallas said no to a reported offer of B Diddy and Caveman. I know they may be injured/injury prone, but I think that has more to do with motivation.

I don't see how adding Davis and Kaman for Kidd would make the Mavs worse. Obviously we aren't going to the finals with this current team and Kidd is likely gone in the off season. Davis and Kaman are probably better than any free agent we would have a chance at now or in 2010 because realistically Wade and LeBron aren't coming here and Bosh will likely be traded to someone else to lock him before he hits free agency.

If they dealt Kidd for Davis and Kaman we'd have a SL of Davis-Wright-Howard-Dirk-Kaman with Dampier, JJB, Green, Bass, etc. on bench.

it's all about the benjamins.

davis has a miserable contract; whether there will be anything left to be gotten in the fa market of 2010 or whatever is yet to be seen. i like kaman, but not at the expense of giving up one of our greatest trade chips in kidd.

oh and as an OT mention...

did anyone outside of those playing fantasy basketball realize that ricky davis is on the clippers? that was weird to see.

well this would be the last chance to trade him and get something for him

we all know how good davis is when he actually plays/tries

look...I'd do the deal JUST to get Kaman out of it.

but at the end of the day, Baron jacking up shots when you have Terry, Howard and Dirk on the same team is just not a good fit. If you’re going to tell me Baron limits his shots and focuses on hitting 12 + assists per game, only taking a 3 when it’s uncontested, and driving to the hole relentlessly, I would love to have him here.

say what you want about kidd

but at least he’s out there every night. davis has the knees of a man twice his age, and is about a 50/50 proposition most night.
