Chris Bosh to Dallas before the Deadline? ...

Dimemag says Bosh won't resign with toronto

If that's true what do you people think would be needed to get him? Something like Howard, Bass, Stack for Bosh and Anthony Parker? Toronto may lose him without compensation if they keep him until 2010. Now, that would be the big trade promised by Donnie Nelson. We could open a hole at the SF position, but it has to be done to get Bosh. What do you think?

I say

trade anyone but Dirk to make it happen.

Not gonna happen

We don’t have the assets

I could see the Knicks pulling it off

Maybe David Lee, Nate, and a 1st round pick.

I could see the Warriors being big time players for Bosh, actually

Do you think ...

That Lee, Nate and a 1st rounder is better than: Josh, Stack, Bass? … Stack gives some cap relief, Josh is still a little bit young and his contract expires before 2010, Bass has a lot of upside. Lee and Nate have his number inflated by D’Anthony’s system. And also, the Knicks have any picks left? …

by hugommorais on Feb 2, 2009 11:54 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

I think Lee and Nate can play for anybody

Nate is instant offense off the bench, and Lee is a very solid PF. I’m not sure of the Knicks pick situation, though.

That's no good.

Miami could give up Beasley, Marion, and maybe a future 1st for Bosh and Kapono.

How about the Warriors, though......

Nope.

They might have enough talent to make it work, but the only way to make the money work is to give Toronto incredibly long contracts back. I don’t think they’d want some 6 and 5 year deals coming to them.

by brettgardner on Feb 2, 2009 12:01 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

They may take Beidrins, Belinelli, and Wright or Randolph

I'd love to see Ellis and Bosh paired up.

Nelly can get that dominant big man he has coveted for so long

And I know he’d be willing to trade off the kiddies to get it done.

Why would the Heat trade Beasley?

Way, way too early to give up on the kid…

by N41D on Feb 2, 2009 1:05 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Not giving up on him if you get Bosh in return...

He’s a nice looking player, but doesn’t appear to have the upside of a Bosh.

by tyd3311 on Feb 2, 2009 1:12 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

But why trade Beasley for Bosh now...

When you will have the cap room to go out and sign Carlos Boozer this offseason?

There ain’t much difference in the two, and you wouldn’t have to sacrifice Mike Beasley in the process…

Trading all that for Bosh (Matrix/Beasley +) doesn’t make them a legit contender, AND they take back Kapono’s crappy contract for the next two years? Yuck…

I just wouldn’t like that trade much at all if I were a Heat fan… Wait it out… I don’t see the rush to do anything in their situation… Even if they wait til 2010 to sign someone, they’re gonna have a chance to re-sign Wade and STILL have to cap space to draw a Bosh, Amare, etc. and still keep Michael Beasley…

Six months ago Beasley was a superstar prospect that looked like he’d be a franchise cornerstone for ten years… I don’t trade that yet for something I can just as easily have for nothing but cash 6 or 18 months from now, especially when making that move doesn’t put me that much closer to competing for a title this year or next…

by N41D on Feb 2, 2009 1:19 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

A couple things:

1. A best-case scenario for Beasley is Chris Bosh.

2. The thing about having cap space and intent is…it takes two. Just saying we’re clearing space for X isn’t enough. He has to (1) want to sign there, and (2) there can’t be any better offers. You never gamble on a sure bet for an ethereal maybe.

Bosh is denying it

“It was a surprise to me and I can’t be responsible for what other people say so …,” said Bosh, his voice trailing off in disgust. "I understand people are entitled to an opinion but making stuff up? We can’t do that.

“Let’s all be fair.”

the Bosh stuff is all rumors…but its still fun to speculate possibilities. Plus, I’m bored and ESPN’s trade machine is fun to play with.

chad ford from espn...

said that a Kidd for Baron and Camby swap would work out for both teams because of Kidds expiring contract and Baron and Camby would really help out dallas.

Very Intriguing deal

But Baron is scary.

Pretty fat contract.

And I fear the transition period, but there’s no doubt that the deal makes us better right now.

I think I’d do it, honestly.

I know

Baron Davis is truly one of the most talented players of this era, when he actually plays.

How would you roll out a lineup then?

Baron, scrub SG with Jet off the bench, Josh, Dirk, Camby with 72 mil man Damp off the bench? It would make our payroll incredibly bloated but I guess they look good talent-wise.

JEFF TEAGUE TIME.

Damp is very tradeable.

Who would take him?

The Hawks? There’s no way we’d really get anything back at all, all we want to do is firebomb that salary from the payroll.

JEFF TEAGUE TIME.

by jonthefon on Feb 4, 2009 4:47 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

The Hawks could use him

I think the Lakers may be a great fit with Bynums injury, Miami needs big man help, New Orleans is hurting in the paint

I'd be perfectly happy with that too

…if we did actually get a center better than Damp beforehand.

by jonthefon on Feb 4, 2009 11:18 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Where do you get the idea that Dampier is tradeable?

I have never heard any rumor of him being traded, ever!

Which to me means he is not tradeable.

Brad Miller is tradeable!

Actually, I think I read that Cuban said they get inquiries on Damp

quite a bit

The only way I could see a trade happening is if we gave

Howard, Bass, Damper, Williams, Stackhouse, and George for Bosh, Parker, and O’Neal. Even then I don’t think it will happen, so I’m not even realistically dreaming of this.

I have witnessed time and time again.

by srdmad on Feb 4, 2009 10:45 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

What does Larry Hughes have left on his contract?

Is he healthy?

If we could trade Stackhouse and a role player (Barea or S. Williams) ?

Would he fill the void at the starting shooting guard position? Wright is playing well defensively but is inconsistent on the offensive side.

I am sure Hughes has too much left on his contract to do the trade, but if he is owed only another year then maybe?
