"My mother always taught me that if the only thing you have to say is,
‘(Expletive) Dave Samson,’ then don’t say anything at all.
So I’m not going to say anything at all.
Is my mother the greatest or what?"
- Mariners GM Bill Bavasi, after signing Ichiro to a $90 million contract

Okay, is Donnie actually serious about what he says here?

Does he truly believe that we could lure big name players in 2010 because of “warm weather, tax-free climate, sold-out buildings…the travel, the first-class, the this and that and the other”? Los Angeles has great weather too, but only idiots would be lured to play for the Clippers.

For me, the funniest part of it all is when he says “Because it’s Dallas” and there’s like a split second of “WTF?” silence.

"Fun" and "Failure" both start out the same way.

By that rationale, all the good free agents should go to Miami and Orlando. Because that's really tax free and warm

By the way, Dwayne Wade really mentioned the weather as a problem in Chicago and New York when talking about 2010 free agency.

Doesn't he say "Because this is Dallas"?

Haha

That’s awesome. I wonder if he picks up girls like that. “You seem like fun, but why should I go out with you again?” “Because I’m Donnie Nelson.” Genius.

2010

Out of this list who is the player that most likely ends up with Dallas? I think it’s Bosh because he’s from here and said he would like to return.

Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Tyson Chandler, Manu Ginobili, Richard Jefferson, Joe Johnson, Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki and Michael Redd, each of whom can become an unrestricted free agent in 2010.

2010
PG: J-Kidd 37 years old in 2010
SG: ? I have no idea
SF: Josh Howard 30 years old in 2010
PF: Dirk Nowitzki 32 years old in 2010
C: Chris Bosh 26 years old in 2010
6th man: Jason Terry 33 years old in 2010

With the way this team is setup we are a very old team except for Chris Bosh. Any guesses on who will be the SG?

TCU are going to bust through the BCS this season.......

LaMarcus Aldridge is also from Dallas and a 2010 RFA, but I expect the Blazers to already extend him in 2009

Yet he is the one who is hardest to judge where his real dreams and plans are.
