Return of the Morning Links

I'm finally getting back in the swing of things, and it's almost like I never left -- the last game I saw in its entirety was the Boston blowout...  Hard to get too down after either one of those games though since I wouldn't have picked Dallas to win, but man it was ugly.

"It was a butt-whipping," coach Rick Carlisle said. "I'm not going to make any excuses. They played great, and we just did not."

Mike Fisher has his game observations, and correctly points out that this always happens in Utah.

Quote of the Night: "They kicked the crap out of us.'' - Rick Carlisle.

Now I believe that Slick Rick said this Thursday while referring back to the Mavs' December visit to Salt Lake City. But it works.

When it's Dallas at Utah, "They kicked the crap out of us'' is a ready-make, one-size-fits-all kind of quote.

-------------

Sefko says Dallas is not involved in any major trade discussions right now.

--------------

Sefko has some quotes from Sloan about Kidd calling more plays.

--------------

A Stackhouse update! It sounds like he's here for the season and will even see the court again at some point.

"This is a two-part process. The first part is he's got to get healthy and in condition, and the second part is the actual activation and integration into the rotation. That's going to be a feel thing.

"My message to him was, 'let's get you back, then we'll go from there.' "

Great ...

We obviously got better in the recent streak. But we need some upgrades. The Kings are selling everyone. We have to get Salmons or Garcia. Salmons only plays well when he starts, Terry always plays well as a sub so he could be our starting 2 without a problem. Salmons is a player that attacks the basket, defends very well and has a good contract. We need to try to get him. Garcia could be a big upgrade too. We could even take back Kenny Thomas contract (something the Kings really want to get rid of). I think that a package of Stack + Williams + George plus cash for Salmons and Kenny Thomas would be a good starting offer. And it would be a huge upgrade for us. Please, don’t stop talking.

Ha, I know, right...there's something wrong with us

I had an even weirder dream months ago, nothing to do with the Mavs. I dreamt that Chris Paul and Deron Williams were running for president of the US and this lady I’ve never seen before in my life gets mad at me because I voted for Deron without hearing Paul’s side. I’m like, “Step off,” because in my mind, Deron > Paul (just a personal preference). Why does he have to play for the city of Utah? I have to partially hate him because of that.

I had a scary dream last night.

I was trying to help find this japanese family who had swerved off the road in the middle of the night. They were supposed to be following me for some reason but they crashed. I went to the morgue and they started getting up, so I ran. Then I was in a volcano trying to save me and some girl. The ledges were falling and the lava was rising, so I told her to grab me and to fall. So she did and I used instant transmission to get us out of there. It was crazy!

Your dream sounds epic and way more entertaining

If you want to interpret that into something Mavs-related, the family = the team and I guess you can say that they were on the road to success (God, that sounds corny!) but they swerved off it last night in Utah and crashed (horrible, ugly crash). But since they got back up, this could very well mean that there’s still some life in them, though they look like they’re dead…like zombies!

Okay, I had way too much fun with that :)

Great...interpret my dream please :)

I dreamt of the APOCALYPSE, which turned out to be basically “poisonous gas” occupying the air about fifty metres up, meaning everyone had to stay low down but for some reason, never ran out of oxygen. Then a MASSIVE PILE OF ROCKS buried the entire Earth, and everyone had no choice but to live on them. But then, a helicopter went around, somehow clearing all the “poisonous air” and the rocks also managed to disappear, thus ending the apocalypse.

Seriously, that’s what happened.

We recently discussed dreams about the Blazers too :)

I think the best one was a girl dreaming about us trading our 2 best players for an invisible point guard (probably a dream about the unknown results of an upcoming trade). And Greg Oden as a clown car.

The cake is a lie. Trade the cake!
