Whoo hoo, big win last night!
Eddie Sefko writes that Carlisle's strong halftime message made the Mavs run away with the game:
"Coach always talks about how he's not a motivator, but he came in here at halftime and really tore into us," said Jason Terry, who had 25 points. "That's the first time I've seen him do that. He said, 'You guys are better than that team, so play like it.' "
Added J.J. Barea, who got the start in the backcourt in Josh Howard's absence and had 16 points, 14 in the first half: "He said we weren't tough enough, our basketball game is OK, but we got to be nastier."
Ryan Hollins on his performance last night:
"I've been waiting for this game for weeks," Hollins said. "History shows that when I guard bigger players, it's something I enjoy. I just tried to stay in front of him."
Looks like Josh might be out for a while.

Mike Fisher's thoughts on the game, along with three noteworthy observations.
Preview of tonight's game vs. the Blazers. Rudy Fernandez is listed as doubtul, while Greg Oden and Martell Webster are out. Here's a better and more in-depth preview from our friends at Blazer's Edge.
Lastly, some encouraging words:
"This could be the start of great things for us," Jason Terry said. "How nice would that be, for everybody to start talking about something positive?
"At some point, you get tired of looking at what people are saying – how the Mavericks are done and we're trading these guys and the window of opportunity is gone. At some point the talk is going to change to, 'You got to watch out for the Mavericks.' "

Hope you don't mind, Wes :)
I had some time left on my lunch break.

Nice work
and nice signature. That song could be stuck in my head all day and it would be a good thing.
I echo your sentiments exactly...now you have to listen to the song :)
I love Paul’s Boutique.

Is that your favorite Beastie Boys album?
I can’t decide between Paul’s Boutique and Ill Communication.
Probably...their use of all of those samples is genius
But i also love Ill Communication (the song with Q-Tip is one of my favorites). The more rock-based songs are great, too (Fight For Your Right, So What’cha Want, Sabotage, No Sleep Till Brooklyn, etc.). Have you listened to their instrumental album? I keep forgetting that they are also musicians, not just MCs.

Get It Together? That song is the greatest.
I think I’ve heard the instrumental, but not bought it yet. Their musicianship really has come a long way throughout their careers though.
Hell yeah, Get It Together
The instrumental album is called The Mix-Up. It’s pretty cool.

I took a 20 minute lunch break today
and ten of that was spent in line at our cafeteria :(

Aw
Wow, 20 minutes…that’s crazy. I feel spoiled for getting one whole hour and having the option of putting my phone on Do Not Disturb mode and shutting my office door!

Yeah, I normally have an hour
but March 15th is a major tax deadline for us…
Oh well, at least I get paid overtime and found out today I’m getting a nice yearly bonus on Friday. :)

If we can beat Portland tonight in Portland
Then we might have something.

"He will not coddle them. Nolan Ryan doesn’t coddle." - Jeff Passan
It's a back-to-back game tonight on the road.
Blazer’s only have one big that is good. Hopefully Bass can take some of the scoring load off Dirk and Terry.
S-St. Louis, R-Rams, D-Dallas, M-Mavericks, A-Arizona, D-Diamondbacks.
Blazers may only have one big but....
Joel Pryzbilla is pretty darn good. Against the Lakers he got 18 boards alone. 7 of them offensive!! Plus LaMarcus Aldridge is pretty good with rebounds also. He had 13 against the Lakers, plus he can be a scoring machine!
Damp will eat Joel Pryzbilla for an evening snack...
I’m afraid of what Roy will do to us, we have to hope we can harass him into a shooting slump early on. Aldridge poses the real threat outside of Roy…although Outlaw is looking strong lately, too.
This is a big game.

that win against LA took alot out of us,
were young and that was an emotional game, it will be hard to bring that same focus tonight. Portland is susceptible if Dallas comes out dialed in and takes the crowd out of it.
Considering many call him a bust and injury prone and never amount to anything. If he plays one more game this regular season, he will have played one more game than any time in bynums career, the one non-playing year excepted. Yet NO ONE in LA complains about Bynum being injury prone, all they ever do is talk about how they can’t wait until he comes back.
I think some of it is that Portland remembers Bowie, and secondly that donkeys always REMIND us of that when they talk trash and it angers us that Oden cant prove them wrong until he is healthy. - GreatOden'sRaven
heheh ... yeah ... That was funnym you know ... He is someone that is on the league for a lot of time now ...
And has played lots of minutes and all that …
This is what I've been saying for a while...

Could be
They could also easily go 1-4 their next 5 games.
