Around SBN: Kobe Bryant Isn't Up To Speed On Jeremy Lin, 'Linning'

The NBA has commenced a review of Dallas Mavericks center Erick Dampier's postgame comments Monday in San Antonio that could result in an official penalty from the league office -- most likely in the form of a fine -- before Thursday's Game 3.

speaking of the league office...

are the Mavs petitioning to reduce that Terry flagrant to a personal? That was one of the stupidest calls I think I’ve ever seen. You get more contact than that on a moving screen.

this is so gay

If this was KG making some “tough” threat, the NBA office won’t be hot on it. The guys on ESPN would be like “Oh he’s serious now. You’ve awaken the beast!” Ugh.

That so true

That ass KG will be lauded for such talk.

I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together.

Exactly both of you ...

I thought the same when I was reading it. If they do something against him, the league should be called National Ballet Association and we have to put a new dress code and all the players have to wear ballerina chothes … A few months ago KG was chasing 6-0 PG on the floor like a maniac and not even a fine was given. To the hell with that.

Didn't Shaq

recently call out Lopez, telling him to “be a big man and put someone on their f*cking back”? Guess that’s okay and just being a tough-minded big man. God forbid the “soft” mavs try to do the same thing.

This league is run by a bunch of idiots.

Granted we already knew that, but the Mavs can’t say or do anything without having to call Homeland Security and investigate. Fuck you stern and your cronies.

I agree with you guys that somebody like Garnett would not even be criticized for this, but at the same time, it was kind of a dumb think for Dampier to say. I understand if he said it in the locker room, but why would he broadcast that to the media?

+1

now every ref on the court is going to be looking at damp for potential flagrants.

how can they fine something........................

thats just a form of gossip ??

stern and jackson have already put dresses on these players now, what the hell does he want ?

Damp could have just been wanting the crowd to get into it, without any actual threat bein made !

this league is way out of bounds anymore……if it was KG, JR Smith, Bruce Bowen and the likes they would get over looked in actually doing something stupid !

Shaq said almost exactly that to Robin Lopez in the game against the Blazers. And...nothing

“Put somebody on their (expletive) back,” O’Neal said. "Don’t let nobody oopsey-doopsey layup on you, then be laughing at you. You ever see me get dunked on? No. Because I put (expletives) on their back. Period.

“That’s what I told him. If he’s going to be a big man, be a big man. Don’t be out there (expletive) around. Lay somebody on their (expletive) back. Wilt (Chamberlain) told me that. Bill Russell told me that. Hakeem (Olajuwon) told me that. All the great big men told me that.

“Do something. Either block it or lay them on their back. Period. That’s what you’ve got to do as a big man. Don’t flop. Lay them on their (expletive) back. That’s what I was taught and that’s what I’m trying to teach him, instead of being out there like a (expletive) loose tree, blowing in the wind.”
