Okay, I haven't seen either movie you guys are talking about (just heard of them), so I am still confused

I am trying to work this all out in my head at the moment. buckets, from what you’re saying, when someone travels back to the past, it then becomes their present, which is why history can be changed…did I understand that correctly?

So that metronome/piano scene with young Daniel and Eloise…she looked a bit upset when she came into the room (unless that was my imagination). At that point, did she already know that she has to shape his destiny by making him go back to the past so that she can shoot him?

as soon as Daniel was born, she knew he would eventually be killed by her in x number of years even though it happened -x number of years ago to her.

1. Where is Daniel’s British/Aussie accent and why is his last name totally different (ha, I might be the only one who cares about this)?
2. Why did Eloise feel that she had to send Daniel back to the past so that she can shoot him…why is that his destiny?
3. Why would Sawyer call an ex by a nickname he gave her when his current girlfriend is right there? Idiot!

Okay, I'm back :)

Had to finish the Magic game and didn’t end up reading too much posts. First off, who do you think that mystery guy is? My theory is that it’s Christian…and this isn’t based on anything truly concrete. I didn’t think of it until the surgery scene and there was a close up of his face…I just thought there was a resemblance there and he does pop up on the island for reasons unknown.

This theory isn’t very sound; for one thing, why would Christian be around in whatever time period that is with the statue and the ship (was that the Black Rock?)? I’m basically just pulling this out of thin air, haha. What do you think?

the christian thing is possible only because the cabin is kind of sketchy at this point. jacob isn't seen in it at any point, and christian says he speaks on behalf of jacob.

now that i think about it, it’s weird how the fake locke convinced richard to convince the real locke to kill himself. the whole manipulation overtone to the story is crazy. it was a weird fucking episode. jacob seems like a nice guy though aside from the almost intentional way he got himself killed.

What about the touching thing

Did you notice that in the flashbacks with Jacob, he pretty much had physical contact with the Losties? That has to mean something. He did bring Locke back to life, so maybe the people he touched won’t die in the explosion (as EW.com theorized). Juliet had that one flashback, but no Jacob.

I need to know what Jacob’s plan is! What does this all mean? What is his purpose? Argh!

If this touching theory is true, then Sayid just might be okay

If he dies, then I’ll be really sad…he’s one of my favorites. But Miles, who has grown on me, won’t be spared. Pretty cool how they showed you what happened to Chang’s hand (I think in some of the videos, he either has a fake hand or has it in some kind of cast…I can’t remember).

I’m intrigued by Desmond’s absence…the island can’t be through with him yet!

haha. yeah the love triangle thing is grating on me a little bit, but then again one woman launched a thousand ships as they say.

jack seemed like he didn’t have much of a purpose outside of the island anymore, so he thought that he needed to make a difference while doing something big. lol. the sawyer thing was pretty funny, but i still like jack more than him. i honestly didn’t even think about vincent. >_< i wanna know what was up with the flaming arrows, and why jacob was a one-hitter quitter.

Yeah, I’m a bit bummed out that we are finally introduced to Jacob in this episode and we see him impacting their lives only to have him die on us (though I think you’re right, it seems like he did it intentionally). But whatever, Vincent is alive! They can’t kill a dog!

true. alana wow. that's gonna make the story a little murkier. i just assumed everyone on that plane was inconsequential, and here they are playing an important role in the modern day island.

But she’s obviously working for/with Jacob. He visited her during that one scene (what was up with that, by the way…she was all beat up or whatever) and it sounded as if they knew each other previously.

I had to look this up, since I don’t know Latin…but when Alana asked, “What lies in the shadow of the statue?”, Richard answered something like, “The one who will save us.”

The series finale better be like four hours, haha.
