The woman arrested at Dirk Nowitzki's house on May 6 says she is pregnant with the child of the Dallas Mavericks' star and that they had been engaged.

Cristal Taylor spoke to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram from jail in Beaumont, Texas.

"I've known Dirk for seven years -- and, no, I didn't tell him everything about my past because I was afraid," Taylor said, according to the newspaper. "But I mean, now I'm pregnant and alone and broke because he is my only source of income."

Taylor said that Nowitzki has not contacted her and likely does not know that she is pregnant. She said that she didn't know before she was arrested.

"I didn't even know," she said, according to the newspaper. "Nobody knew until they tested me in Dallas."

Taylor said that she was tested at the Dallas County Jail where she was held for one week before a transfer to Beaumont.

This seems like complete bull...

I can understand the jail taking a urine test to look for drugs or something, but I don’t find it plausible for a pregnancy/TB test be done without consent from the arestee as it would be a violation of privacy. And if I know anything about women, and I think I do, this woman seems like a golddigger and there’s no way she would risk having a kid before getting married.

where I work in Oklahoma

it’s standard practice to test incoming female prisoners for pregnancy…not sure about TB, although I’ll bet that the inmates in the county jail for longer than a month get TB tested, as well. The reason for the pregnancy test is fairly simple: lots of women booked in at county don’t know they’re pregnant (because of, let’s say, “lifestyle choices”), so they’re not getting any prenatal care. If they find inmates who are knocked up, they’ll give them prenatal vitamins and fairly regular checkups with the jail doc.

In jail, you have very few rights and the right to privacy is thrown out the window. Prisons test for pregnancy, TB, HIV, and any other type of disease that could be brought in. All inmates are subjected to a strip search and/or a full cavity searches. All mail is monitored/ read and your jail cell is subject to random inspections at all times. You want privacy, don’t go to jail.

"Daryl (Morey, the Rockets general manager) and I were talking this morning. We both discussed how great Tracy is in the playoffs. There's very few people who have the ability to step up their games in the playoffs and he does. So we're not looking to run away from Tracy." - Houston Rockets Owner, Leslie Alexander

She took 2 pregnancy test and both said she was pregnant. It’s safe to say that she’s pregnant. Hopefully, she cheated on Dirk with someone else and it’s not his baby. He should demand a DNA test.

“We have been told that she was not administered a pregnancy test [in Dallas County Jail],” Hart said, responding to one of Taylor’s claims this week in an interview she granted to The Dallas Morning News.
