Mavs eye 5th pick for Jordan Hill but is it the best thing to do?
Mavs love J Hill as do I but would moving up to 5 and taking him be correct??
If we take Hill it will probably mean we are not resigning Brandon Bass. Bass had a career year and shows he will improve in his game. Wouldn't it be better to draft a good scoring 2 guard (which we need at the starters) such as Derozan or Harden and still keep Bass than to get a replacement for Brandon who isnt guaranteed to be better and still have to find more talent for the 2? What do you guys think?
I also added my plan revised.
The Mavs resign Jason Kidd and Brandon Bass and Ryan Hollins and James SIngleton. Think about Green. He shows promise but is it worth taking the risk?
Mavs trade Josh Howard and Shawne WIlliams for Josh Smith
Mavs trade Stack + 22 to move up to get #5 and Mike James then draft Demar Derozan
Mavs trade Erick Dampier and someone else for Marcus Camby
Mavs acquire second round pick for cash and draft PG Rodrigue Beaubois
Mavs get Shan FOster from the summer league camp and shift him to D League at first and then call him up.
PG- Jason Kidd
SG- Demar Derozan
SF- Josh Smith
PF- Dirk Nowitzki
C- Marcus Camby
SG- Jason Terry
PF- Brandon Bass
PG- Rodrigue Beaubois
C- Ryan Hollins
SG/SF- Antoine Wright
PF- James SIngleton
PG- Mike James and JJ Barea
SF- Shan Foster
SG- Gerald Green?
So what do you guys think

Stack + 22
won’t be enough to get 5. The Wizards want a veteran.
The Wizards would take Stack's contract
and the 22nd pick so we would get 5 and take back bad contract of Mike James maybe even Etan Thomas’s contract.
According to this we could easily get the second pick in the draft. Perkins and Walker for the second pick, we can top that.

S-St. Louis, R-Rams, D-Dallas, M-Mavericks, A-Arizona, D-Diamondbacks.
How do you figure we could easily get it?
It ain’t like that Boston offer is anywhere close to what Memphis would take…
That's why I said "according to this we could easily get the second pick"
because there’s no way Memphis trades that second pick for basically Perkins, but according to the rumor we could top that deal. But again, Memphis is not trading that pick for Perkins.

Eyeing Hill at #5 may be a smoke screen.
If we were able to trade either Terry (more likely) or Howard (less likely) to the Wizards for the #5 pick, we would be looking at a SG such as Jennings, DeRozan, or Harden. However, if you read this post (http://www.bulletsforever.com/2009/6/17/912245/who-is-gilbert-arenas-ideal) you’ll see why the Wizards trading for Terry wouldn’t be their best deal.
taking Hill at # 5 would make me vomit a little bit
not saying he won’t be a good player, it just doesn’t make sense to trade a starter (Howard) for a backup player (Hill)

Howard for #5 won't happen
The wizards are stocked at forward, especially SF. They don’t need, nor want, Howard. They are looking for a SG.
the one position we just can't find anyone
