Wizards Trading 5th Pick to Minnesota?

ESPN is reporting the two teams have a deal in place.

The Washington Wizards are close to a deal that would send the No. 5 pick in Thursday's draft, Oleksiy Pecherov, Etan Thomas and Darius Songaila to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Randy Foye and Mike Miller...

Minnesota would then hold the fifth and sixth picks and apparently keep both.

Dallas had been linked to the fifth pick for a while now, but in terms of talent the Foye/Miller package surpasses anything Dallas could offer.

Damn...

Great move for Minnesota, IMO…

Yup.

They’re putting together quite the youth movement, ala Portland a few years ago.

I really hope we don't sit idly by this summer

And watch everyone else improve

That's the Dallas Mavericks way...

We’ll hear “We like our guys and our chances when we’re healthy…”

Mark Cuban used to be impulsive. He used to refuse to settle for this kind of mediocrity…

Doubt it...

I’ve always had the opinion Donnie is more a puppet than an actual decision-maker…

I think any big decision goes through and is ultimately made by Cuban…

Donnie does nothing more than make some of the phone calls and makes sure the numbers work…

The window is closed.

Mavericks should just focus on adding the best player available and acquiring interior defense. Until we get at least two bigs who can clog the lane in the same lineup, our paint will always be the other teams domain against us.

After the show I want Greg Oden to tuck us both in and tell us stories about the old days. - Will Ferrell

wow.

so Minnesota hopes to land who, Thabeet and Tyreke Evans there? packaged with Al Jefferson and Kevin Love? Not a bad young team…

Thabeet is the obvious one...

Then you’d assume they’d love one of Evans, Rubio, and Harden…

I’d be surprised if they got Thabeet without moving up though…

They have 5 and 6 right now right?

So their starting lineup looks like Jefferson, Love, SF (do they give Corey Brewer one more shot, or is it Ryan Gomes?), SG, Telfair.

I see them filling SG with either Harden or DeRozan, and then picking either a point guard (Jonny Flynn? Brandon Jennings) or just get both to cover 2 and 3.

Remember to retire Fin's number, Mark.
