NEW plan (MAKE IT HAPPEN DONNIE!!!!)
I thought about it and alot of plans (including some of my last plans) make no sense at all. All this makes sense adn could happen if Donnie would pull his head out of his ass.
Briong in Marquis as the starter BUT move him to the bench next year (if you get him a multi year deal) because we could have a shot at Joe Johnson, the best SG in the NBA behind Wade, Kobe, and Roy.
Now this year,
trade Stackhouse for a Center that can get you double doubles, play solid D, and give you the work ethic. Dalembert is great gets rebounds and plays D but his work ethic is not so great. Chandler great on everything but he might be a little too injury prone. Kaman is good too. gets you double doubles but once again, injury prone. That leaves us with Emeka Okafor. Young, gets double doubles almost every night, plays D, no history of being injured a lot, and is the guy who can go out and get his 15 and 10 and then one night gets you 35 and 15. Stack for Okafor. Damp has a 16 mill expiring so save hi (hate him) for next offseason and turn it into gold. Im not sure if we can get the same value for him this year. Someone research that and get back at me. Get Roddy B Ahmad Nivins and Shan Foster on the team. If you have to trade JET or Howard to get a younger player with same type of talent do so.
With the rest of your MLE resign Bass and try to pick up a cheap role player who can be your 8th man. Maybe Grant Hill for a 2 year deal??
Lineup looks like
Kidd (PG)
Daniels (SG)
Howard (SF)
Dirk (PF)
Okafor (C)
JET (SG)
Bass (PF)
Hll (SF)
Wright (SG/SF)
Hollins (C)
Barea (PG)
Beaubois (PG)
Singleton (PF)
Nivins (PF) like his upside
Carroll (SG)
We gotta make something happen this offseason and get a big player (preferabley Joe Johnson ) in FA cuz we dont have a 1st rder next year and it is actually supposed to be a strong draft next year. One guy we could use isJarvis Varnardo from Miss St I think. He is a center.

Do you really think Kidd will stay?
That’s an honest question, not a smart ass sarcastic one.
My optic presentation sizzles the retina
How far must you go to gain respect? Um...
Well, it's kind of simple, just remain your own
Or you'll be crazy, sad and alone
LOL I know what you mean
I think Kidd has 2 years of solid point guard play of 8 points 9 assists and defense. Thats said reports say he wont be back and go to CLE or LAL or even NYK. We can offer him the most money. He wants a ring. He knows we have franchise cornerstone in Dirk. He knows we have JET and oward as solid 2 and 3 options. He is also aware that in 2010 Cuban will land a BIGGGGGG player along the lines of CHris Bosh or Joe Johnson (hell even Dwayne Wade). He says he loves it here and wanted to retire a Mav. So yeah I think he will stay with a 3 yr 22mil dollar deal. Imagine this lineup.
Kidd
Johnson
Howard
Dirk
Okafor (stackhouse trade thiss offseason)
with JET Bass and maybe new role players off the bench
I just read
this
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4295423
Bucks are letting Charlie V become a free agent…I wouldn’t mind getting him on our team
don't know if he'd fit though
but if we lost bass…
just thinking about that
we could sign Charlie V then sign and trade Bass. Were bound to get a good player for Bass. But…. Charlie V will prob get greedy and ask for about 9-10 mil a year and we cant do that….. So its most likely CLE or MIL for Charles
Just added something at the bottom of it
check it out and tell me what you think.
Name 3 players that we shuld go after next year, and don’t say LeBron, Wade, or Kobe cuz they aint leavin
Bass
you dont have to use the MLE or part of the MLE on Bass, he has early bird rights.
Josh Hamilton = Baseball Jesus : Chris Davis = Baseball Jesus' Younger Brother
You don't have to
But he doesn’t have to take that, either.

you sure?
cuz I here so many say he doesnt and so many say he does. Have a link or sumtin?
That question was answered today
“Bass will be seeking the mid-level exception. Because he has been with the Mavericks for two seasons, they can offer him any annual salary up to the exception without actually using their exception. "
There have been rumors
saying that he did not want to return to dallas via laura miller tweet… I like your ideas for sure though. Loosing Kidd I cant even believe I am admitting this…but it would definitely be a blow…atleast for next season. I like Okafor at center and the Mavs could definitely make that happen just with damp and maybe a role player. if Kidd is gone Barea and the Rook wont cut it … I would hope that they would consider Kurt Hinrich to fill that void…as for Joe Johnson that would be great proobably not ver realstic…I would say Rip Hammilton or Ron Artest would be more realstic so check it …
Hinrich pg
hamilton/artest sg
Howard sf
Dirk pf
okafor center
All warfare is based on deception.
Just curious...
I want to know why you think the Bobcats would get rid of Okafor?
If they would, check out ESPN’s Trade Machine and you will find out why trading for Okafor will be extremely difficult. His contract is difficult to match.
doubt it but check this link
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine
but why wud charlotte want both of our old centers…?
d b-lee
please stop with trading Howard
the only player I’d consider trading him for that is even a REMOTE possibility is Josh Smith
"Hang-Dai, Wu...Hang-Fu$&ing-Dai"
Okafor Trade
Dampier goes to Charlotte
Raja Bell and Okafor come to Dallas
If Charlotte is looking to get rid of some salary, it works. Dallas alos gets the perimeter defender they have been lacking.
Then you can use Stack to try and get a sign and trade to happen for Ron Artest.
OR if we do lose out on Kidd, we can trade Stack, Shaun Williams, and Devean George to Memphis.
In return Dallas would get Mike Conley and Marko Jaric. Yes Jaric sucks, but if we are getting talent, we have to give them cap relief and take on a bad contract. Hakim Warrick wouldn’t be bad to pull in as well and I wouldn’t mind parting ways with Howard if Conley and Warrick would be coming to Dallas.
