Summer League Game One: Box Score and Highlights
The Vegas Summer League began last night, and I didn't watch it because for some reason I thought it was today instead...
DB.com has a short report on all the games from yesterday.
Let's start with Roddy, the supposed ´'Lightning Rod'' we've been led to believe with this great wingspan and leaping ability ? none of that matters when you turn the ball over repeatedly and i mean the first 3 trips of the game for the Mavs, Roddy Beaubois palmed the ball on a FB (out of control) and next two times penetrated and dished out to no one except the other team or me in the front row. let's give him some time to calm down and see if he can harness the energy.
Ridiculous Upside will also be reporting from Vegas, and it sounds like last night's Mavs game might be the least fun he will have all week.
Neither team scored 20 points in a quarter until the 4th, when they both did (but just barely). I know I said I would emphasize positive performances and not talk about bad ones very much, but that's going to be hard with this one. Ahmad Nivins had the best game out of everyone with 19 points on 10 shots and six rebounds, though he also had six fouls.

Beaubois was signed to a contract, Nivins not yet, correct?
If you want to trade our spare parts for Devin Harris, I have three quarters I would like to trade for your dollar
How many roster spots does DAL have anyways?
One, right. Then I think that we send Nivins to D-League or Europe until a roster spot opens for him. Maybe the Mavs can trade cheap, expiring contracts for a first rounder next year at the trade deadline. I can see Williams and Jawai leave, and I can’t wait until the words “Matt Carroll’s Expiring Contract” become true, but that won’t be until 4 years from now.

Nivins was great and Roddy B had flashes of brilliance
The game itself was horrible; I couldn’t wait for it to end.
Yay, Roger!

Watch the summer league games for free....
on atdhe.net. I’m watching right now and the feed is good. Better than paying 14.99 for it. Mavs game will be starting in a few minutes.
Didn't watch the game
but Roddy B had 34 points today, including 7-of-12 from beyond the arc. A stack of fouls again though, but can’t be that big. Only 2 turnovers.
Remember to retire Fin's number, Mark.
There are rumors the Mavs are preparing a deal for Michael Redd
Sure more to come out on Monday

Via Bleacher Report
It is being reported on Twitter by a respected insider that the Dallas Mavericks are discussing a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks which would send Eric Dampiers dangling contract for Michael Redd. Obviously, the contracts don’t match, which could result in another player will likely be sent with Dampier.
why?

If he wasn't coming off major knee surgery, it would feel differently
With his salary, it’s just too much of a risk for total failure.
