Speaking of good news

Our Tony Parker-like PG Beaubouis just injured his left knee in the summer league.

I mean, I guess it would just be a guy who you know, grabs bananas and runs. Or, um, a banana that grabs things. I don’t know. Why would a banana grab another banana? I mean, those are the kind of questions I don’t want to answer.

and wow i had no idea that wilcox was an ufa. wonder what it'd take to get him.

Oops

Not sure how that posted. What I meant to say was “unless you’d rather have Sean May.”

Yay, Roger!

Lets see here.

I would like a Hollins, a Marquis and oh heck why not, throw in a Barnes. I might want an Odom too.

AI would be sick!

Seeing as the Mavs don’t have a true number two if Howard starts, anyway.

2009 Dallas Cowboys: 10-6

by Grady90 on Jul 14, 2009 4:25 AM CDT reply actions

Obviously I'd like to see them retain Singlton and Hollins...

And out of the rest of the list, Von Wafer sticks out as a guy who could find a role here. Ike Diogu is very intriguing, if he can stay healthy. A little stability, back home in Dallas, might help him realize his potential. He was a monster for the Kings at the end of the season.

I think if you put two of my best seasons together it wouldn't come up with the numbers he's going to have at the end of the season. -Troy Aikman on Tony Romo

Diogu's

from around Dallas, right? GP? Garland?

Purgatory's kind of like the in-betweeny one. You weren't really shit, but you weren't all that great either. Like Tottenham.

by TheJeezus on Jul 14, 2009 9:05 AM CDT up reply actions

Yeah, Garland...

He finished the season on a huge roll when he finally got playing time with Sacramento (29 minutes, 20 ppg, 8 rpg in the last four games), and could probably be had for a song. His career PER and 36-minute numbers are actually better than Brandon Bass’, but he keeps getting hurt and traded.

Diogu was drafted by the

Warriors as a seventh pick, so at a low price and him staying healthy, he can be good.

I still think Diogu

can play at a high level in this league.

Nate, we have JT. Odom, we have Howard and Marion.

Marvin Williams, we can’t afford, and we don’t have the pieces for a S & T.

Marquis Daniels.

Or sign Lee or Sessions and trade them for something.

Von Wafer and Linas Kleiza

a run at either would be great, they can score and have upside

by Escalator on Jul 15, 2009 2:39 AM CDT reply actions

Anyone want Kurt Thomas?

I mean he’s a serviceable center with a cheap contract. We can flip the ‘Buck Shot’ for him as a last resort kinda thing if we can’t get something substantial out of Buck’s contract.

As for FA’s, I’ll take a look at Diogu, Powe and Shelden Williams.

by Sonic Death Monkey on Jul 15, 2009 11:13 AM CDT reply actions

I’ll take him if his asking price is cheap. JKidd may get something out of him,he’s relatively young.

by Sonic Death Monkey on Jul 15, 2009 1:10 PM CDT up reply actions

No one can get anything from him. He was such a laughable pick by the Hawks.

He plays below the rim. JKidd get’s the most out of high flyers. I wonder if Sheldon has ever caught an Alley oop in the NBA, i bet not.

by octoberty on Jul 15, 2009 1:28 PM CDT up reply actions

Mikki Moore and Leon Powe?

Joe Smith? Does Theo Ratliff have anything left?

Can Morris Almond play backup SG for us?

by Walter Sobchak on Jul 15, 2009 11:22 AM CDT reply actions

Powe is basically Brandon Bass.

I wonder how much he’s going to go for.

Almond didn’t get much PT in Utah – and may not here, but he’s a pure scorer at SG with size…something we don’t really have on the bench.

Almond's playing for the Knicks' SL team

I dunno if he’s still an UFA.

5M/3Y for Powe with TE on the 3rd year

by Sonic Death Monkey on Jul 15, 2009 1:06 PM CDT up reply actions

Powe is much better low post player than Brandon Bass.

He is limited athletically, but knows his way around inside, very solid player.

Almond, the transition from Rice to the NBA is enormous, he played really well in the d-league, though, I’d much prefer him on the roster then someone like, say, Gerald Green.

He is still an UFA, as of yesterday.

Lets get Powe or Diogu

I've always liked Desmond Mason

versatile defender, crazy athleticism. He’s not quite what the Mavs need, but I wouldn’t mind seeing him here on a one-year deal.

He can still defend

I wouldn’t mind him as a 9th or 10th option, or as a guy to plug in when we need a stop. If the price is right, of course.

ODOM

this team needs interior play. dampier is a joke and losing Gortat is gut wrenching. I’d say open the wallet to Odom and give him the max that Dallas can offer.

by VA Dallas Fan on Jul 15, 2009 11:47 PM CDT reply actions

Powe

if he was healthy, it would be a no brainer. He is an excellent defender. I remember him single handedly shutting down Dirk last year.
