We need a player to "Step up." Great. But who??
Ok so guys. I have been watching the mavericks for so many years. And not just dallas, Not just the NBA, its all teams in all sports. To be good, something has to happen that wasnt supposed to. You rarely(if ever) see a team put up back to back 60 win seasons and have no players step up and play higher than their talent levels. If teams stay the same,(Due to the rest of the league getting better) the team will decline. So lets look at past successful years...
Looking back, Josh Howard was never SUPPOSED to be as good as he is. So if he wasnt, we would have never been this good.
03-Reached Conf Finals- Dirk and Nash had breakthrough years!
06-Finals. Jet was great. Howard became the Howard we know today.
07 Season-HARRIS! He stepped up.
Lately: Bass Steped up a lot. Singleton had a good playoffs. Barea!
So who do we need to step up in 2010 to be successful?
Heres my take, and i would appreciate replies.
Barea-Needs to become a solid 12-5 guy
Singleton-We need 9 or 10 points and 7 boards from this guy
Hollins-ill be happy with 7 and 4 for him(with his minutes)
Gerald Green-Live up to the hype out of high school man. We need to hold onto him! i see him becoming the next boom. The guy is still in his early 20's give him a shot!!
Sorry for rant guys, its my first ever post. Comments?

... Shawn Marion
Why are we even having this discussion?
I think if you put two of my best seasons together it wouldn't come up with the numbers he's going to have at the end of the season. -Troy Aikman on Tony Romo
Combination of Marion and Howard...
If both are healthy and their usual selves, we’re looking at a very formidable combination out of the perimeter…
I’m tired of hearing about Gerald Green and his youth/potential. Guy’s been on quite a few teams in his short career. He just may have low BBIQ and won’t ever reach that potential.
Future
The point is, hes young. And has been in the NBA, has experience. A lot of players come into the NBA out of high school or only 1 year of college, and dissapear.
If Green Peaks at like 14 points a game in the next 3-4 years, thatll be good enough. Im not saying i think hes gonna be a 20 ppg kinda guy

Shawn Marion?
Shawn Marion? We just need him to Produce. Not step up. Anyone who isnt overly optimistic knows hes not going bac kto the old 20 ppg marion. 13 or 14 MAYBE 16 would be plenty.
I ws talking about subs, not already talented players doing even better. Every team needs and has those
