Marion Trade Agreed To By Memphis, Toronto, Dallas
UPDATE: Now it looks like Orlando is involved due to Toronto looking for a sign & trade with Hedu Turkoglu. Look for the smoke to clear on Thursday.
Both the Associated Press and ESPN are reporting that the trade sending Toronto Raptors forward Shawn Marion to the Mavericks has been agreed to by Toronto and the Memphis Grizzlies. The three team trade sends Jerry Stackhouse and cash to the Grizzlies, while Toronto gets Devean George and Antoine Wright and their expiring contracts. Dallas receives Shawn Marion and forward Kris Humphries.

Like I posted a little while ago ...
Ric Bucher is reporting that the mavs will get greg buckner too. That’s fantastic! Very good team now and flexibility for 2010, fantastic!

I read that it starts at like 6+ mil
then goes up by (I think) 10.5% per year. And maybe the final year is non-guaranteed or a team option?

So
what does this mean in regards to re-signing Brandon Bass?

ESPN says
that with this trade we now could become L.A lakers biggest threat.

I ll give you the qoute from Hollinger
this team looks like a real danger to the West’s elite. Dallas boasts eight players who had a PER above the league average last season — nine if Bass re-signs — and one of them is a genuine star in Nowitzki.
In a Western Conference in which several of the contenders appear to be shrinking rather than rising, the Mavs are trying to seize the opening for a credible rival to the Lakers to emerge. Thanks to Mark Cuban’s willingness to spend freely on a winner, they might have done it.

Nice deal
If you want to trade our spare parts for Devin Harris, I have three quarters I would like to trade for your dollar
by Norsktroll on Jul 9, 2009 4:46 AM CDT reply actions 0 recs
I'm happy about the deal
I read on ESPN that the Mavs will probably release Buckner. Also, it said originally Chicago was going to be involved as a fourth team and the Mavs would have gotten Tim Thomas…that would have been even better! I’m happy to be getting Marion and getting rid of George though (that’s almost incentive enough to do the trade)

Finally!
And The George is gone too!
Starting to feel optimistic…strange feeling for a Mavs fan :)

Will the summer league be broadcast on TV?
Sorry, it has nothing to do with the article, I am dying to get an answer.

On NBATV, if I'm not mistaken

In answer to the question about the summer league tv broadcasts....
I have yet to find anything about it being broadcast on tv. I emailed KTXA out of Dallas. Their affiliate station UPN 21 usually carries some of the games. They emailed me back and said no games were scheduled this year. I haven’t seen that HDNET was carrying any games. Usually NBA.COM has not only a schedule of the games, but when they are showing on tv. The schedule is there but they show NO tv schedule. I will check on NBA TV Friday night, but as of right now I don’t think the summer league games are being broadcast anywhere. BUMMER.

How do we sign up?
Thank you for the info. Do you know where we can sign up? I hope Vegas will have a better quality that the Orlando one, because it keeps freezing.

I found where:
It’s here: http://www.nba.com/summerleague2009/
They could include it in the NBA League Pass…
