Your Thoughts On: Eduardo Najera Trade
After having spent four successful seasons with the Mavericks, former fan favorite Eduardo Najera is now officially a Dallas Maverick once again.
In a deal that was made due in most part for financial reasons, the New Jersey Nets and the Dallas Mavericks worked out a deal which would send Kris Humphries, and troubled player Shawne Williams to the Nets. In return the Mavs received Eddy Najera, and Mark Cuban saved roughly $4.7 million.
During the 2000-2004 seasons in Dallas, Najera's best year came in 02-03', where he averaged 6.7 PPG and 4.6 RPG.
For many Dallas fans this deal makes no sense. For one, Eduardo Najera is an older NBA veteran who has shown for the past few years that he is injury prone. While Humphries on the other hand is still a young talent with much more to offer.
Either way, don't expect to see too much from Najera, as we all know the Mavericks have a very deep bench, with players like Tim Thomas, and Drew Gooden ahead of him.
Kris Humphries on the other hand probably couldn't be any happier. Even though he is going to a young, and lousy New Jersey team, he should definitely expect to see his minutes on the rise.
One important fact can be said about both players though.
When their numbers are called, they will always give it their best, always making sure to leave it all on the court.

I would've targeted a back-up center
Even if it hadn’t saved Cuban money. Najera is gonna get Humphries minutes, and only if he is 100% healthy.
And man, every time I go to the ESPN Trade Machine and see Matt Carroll’s contract I wanna chop my balls off and give them to my dog.
lol
i was thinking a few fingers is enough

In defense of my boy Eddie Navajo
Eddie’s been injured ever since he joined NJ and they never really got to see what he can do. A lot of people forget that before going to NJ, Eddie was a key bench player for some pretty good Nugget teams. He’s all hustle all the time and in Denver he developed a 3pt shot. I think you guys got good value for him, wish he was still in Denver. Good luck on the rest of the season, see you in the tournament
The trade doesn't kill the team
we get rid of shawne williams’ contract, and free up Hump to play somewhere where he’ll get better minutes.
Its a longshot, but i hope the mavs can trade carroll for a legit backup center, then i think the roster ’ll be ok
Good move for saving money, that's it
I don’t blame Mark for doing it, but it’s a bummer we had to lose Humphries. He’s a good player.
I’ve enjoyed watching Najera over the years, but the guys body is just done. It’s not his fault and it’s not for a lack of heart, but the Mavs are not as good a team as they were before the trade.
Greetings from the Humungus, the Ruler of the Wasteland, the Ayatollah of Rock and Roll-A. I laugh at your puny plans.
