Short (written) Interview w/ Dirk by ZDF (german TV station)
On the upper right there is an additional interview by LOGO, a childrens-tv-show, recorded 3-4 months ago in Germany. Some hidden gems are there aswell.
As for the linked interview [13.01.10], i am way to lazy to translate it for y'all (have at you, google), but it has some interesting turns. Lernt deutsch, ihr Helden! :p
The biggest thing is that he hasn't spoken to Cuban about a) his Contract and b) his participation in the world cup - YET.
AKA he has not made a decision, so far - expect that no sooner than the season ending.
Not many might know this, but if he commits to playing in this summer, he is highly probable to play every summer the next three years (2010-12), because of the implied qualifications. [ WC participation means guaranteed entry for 2011 EC. Good result there means a spot at the 2012 Olympics. Bad result at the EC means additional qualifying tournaments. ]
The problem is not the tournaments itself, but the 2-4 weeks of preparation that are required.
I don't have to tell you how that would effect his NBA performance/legs, do i? Just look at what happend to Pau Gasol at the start of this season.
On a side note, when Dirk plays, Chris Kaman is 99.99% likely to play aswell. Combine that with the recent rise of Elias Harris at Gonzaga, and it is reasonable to assume that a good perfomance at the 2011 EC should be expected.
