Any Dallas deal for Carmelo won’t be simple
Interesting reaction to the "breaking" news that Dallas is interested in trading for Carmelo without an extension (even though we've known about it for at least a month now...thanks Mark Stein). This writer, Zach Lowe, is actually very much against it for the Mavericks. Thoughts?

He clearly isn’t completely in tune with the Mavericks, but I thought he made several very good points, even if I disagree with his overall assessment.
I guess his not being in tune with the Mavs made his story less credible to me. And I’m not so sure that he put much research into it.
This dude should be writing for dallasbasketball.com. Every time Cuban says "of course we're interested"...
That means that negotiations are in progress and the Mavs are in the running. I understand, I mean if I were a writer, I would put each and every “rumor” out there to get traffic to my site. But, c’mon, the Mavs trading for Melo and Denver actually being interested will go down about the second Carlisle realizes JJ doesn’t deserve any PT…. not gonna happen.
