All-Star Game Open Thread

I just find biased fans annoying. Dirk had an OK game. It was an all-star game, but his defense was horrible all night even in the clutch. He had like one strip.

I think he would have won if he had made the last shot, he didn’t get the chance. He had a good game minus playing defense in the beginning but did better at the end. I wear Dirk colored glasses and if you don’t like that then sorry.

His defense was horrible at the end too. It just looked better because they missed shots. EG: Bosh missing the alley hoop.

If he took a three pointer at the end and made it instead of drawing the foul, and they won the game, then he would of got the home-court benefit and won it. He just didn’t take the risk, he had Dwight Howard jump in, and he hesistated to put up the shot.

His D was better, and he was aggressive in rebounding. It doesn’t matter if he got home-court benefit and won it, that’s better than not winning it. He tied the game with two clutch free throws and could have won it at the end but we’ll never know that. How are you writing all this with E.J. and Kevin next you, Chris.

I don’t know what game you were watching. When is Dirk ever aggressive in rebounding? The free throws weren’t exactly clutch, they were in a home all-star game. You could say D-Wade made clutch free throws after he got intentional fouled.

His D wasn’t better, it might have been better than the start of the game when no one tries to play D.

Pretty much. The game was decent, but eh you usually expect the All Star Game to be that kind of offensive game, at least this year it was close. The contests were disappointing, HORSE was just really bad, Dunk Contest was the worst, and the Celebrity game wasn’t really interesting.

game was fun tonight

it was really weird watching a basketball game with over 100,000 people there and it not being very loud… but that is the case when no one knows really when to cheer and who to cheer for…

unfortunate that dwade played well… but more unfortunate that carmelo is a ball hog… i wish them both failure the rest of their careers

sound system SUCKS in the place… now i was in the upper deck but i was front row and it was awful.. it was better for the halftime show, but in game it was very quiet…

the music played during possessions was so bad… so many organ tunes… i felt like i was at a baseball game listening to some of that stuff… the nba about 20 min before the game realized they forgot music, so they must have ran over to the ballpark and stole their music computer last second… lets just say that the music they played didnt suit the majority of the audience…

anyway successful night… dirk played well and I am in the guiness book of world records!

I joined you in the world record book.

I was in 227 and it was still a horrible sound system;; such a shame to waste that beautiful big screen with bad sound technology.

Dirk should have taken the final 3 – George Karl I think gave Carmelo the shot at the end saying “if we win this game, Melo gets the MVP here” which I can’t blame him TOO much but I think everybody agrees for a game winning 3 Dirk is the best option between those two.

The cheering (or lack of cheering) was pretty pathetic. So many cheers for LeBron, so many cheers and boos for Kobe, but beyond that they didn’t cheer for local Deron Williams AT ALL (even if he is a Jazz) and barely for Bosh; Dirk didn’t get nearly as many cheers as I’d expected, and people in my section were actually BOOING him.
