Wednesday Wacky Winks

No, Elmer Fudd did not come up with the title. Good news everyone! Dampy damp and Haywood are expected to be in the lineup tonight. Although our own little "Puerto Rican Rotorooter" is out with a sprained ankle. What a cruel world!

In a quick little blog entry, Todd Davis of the DMN Mavs blog says

The news is not all good on the injury front, however. Backup point guard J.J. Barea will be out with a sprained ankle.

Signor Eddie Sefko has a preview of tonight's Mavs vs Nets game. Some people call them the Nyets since they're not a very good team. Little known fact, in Soviet Union, Nyets play you!

ESPN Dallas asks Shawn Marion what's going on with the team. His response? We're Just Playing Ball.

That's what's up!

Tim Legler of ESPN Dallas says the Mavericks pose a serious threat to the Lakers for the Western Conference championship.

Wowsers! Let's keep our heads cool though, I don't want to jinx anything.

Now, we can't finish off these "wacky winks" without something wacky. This video kicks off a concert series about a "SuperBowl" or something footbally, more info on that here. This is just..I...I just don't know.

Thanks for the heads up Legler. I didn’t know the Mavericks were good.

Only five players have averaged 25 and 10 in their playoff careers. One of them, Dirk Nowitzki.

I think he’s trying to reference to the fact they were just threats before. The start of the season we all thought it was the Laker’s spot to lose, but I think now the Mavericks aren’t really underdogs compared to the Lakers when they’re healthy. They’re two talented teams that can go at each other, and either one can win when they’re both at their best.

Most people will say healthy Kobe vs. healthy Mavs

Mavs lose. I do think we’ve got too much firepower to be counted out, but I think the refs will still favor Kobe in foul situations…

why are you always trying to clarify obvious stuff

to us when we already get it?!

blair rocket knows what legler means… he is just making a funny comment to a cliche statement made by legler that ESPN probably made him say to make a story

go mavs, go colts, go rangers, go baylor

His sarcastic comment was off, Legler wasn’t declaring the Mavericks good, but actually up to the level of the Lakers. Why do you always make idiotic responses

Instead of saying "I didn’t know the Mavericks were good."

I should have said “I didn’t know the Mavericks were a serious theart” but I figured people would figure out that I was just making “a funny comment” as zkmavz pointed. Most people should have known that we were a serious threat half way through this streak.

So Legler saying it now is sort of dumb from my perspective, because I already knew that. I assume any of us here that read his comment gave a little laugh because we already knew they were a serious threat and Legler is a little late to the party.

FYI Legler is my favorite NBA guy on espn, I’m just going after him because I don’t like him.

Dude, you suck.

Your responses always have this holier than thou attitude. We’re all having fun here on moneyball and we know what this team can and can’t do. We don’t need some random ass guy being a smart ass and replying to everything.

*Update*

I cut myself yesterday when working out. These nails are getting dangerously long. I’m scared guys. If I don’t make it, tell Dirk I love him.

don't worry man

I’ll stand on a chair and yell loudly so Dirk hears me
