JJ has been so scared about losing the #2 spot he hasnt even been running the plays...
He dribbles until there is about 4 seconds left on the shot clock and then puts up and ugly shot or passes to someone so that the violation is on him. The teams that play him multiple times a year all know that he doesn’t have any D and that his two shots are either 3 years where he’s left alone or the 5 ft arch layup and they’ve figured out that’s stoppable.
at this point, it looks like the playbook is about 5 plays, with 1 of those as an iso for dirk.
it has to be some sort of favoritism. i remember when carlisle came in, he said he wanted to find out who could play, and i distinctly remember him gushing about jj. maybe it was because avery had him buried on the bench, where he belonged.
