The party has moved south to San Antonio, where our beloved Mavericks will attempt to regain their lead in the series. Game 2 proved what we all suspected- this isn't going to be easy for either team. After a disappointing effort on both ends of the floor, let's see if Dallas can't find their rhythm again amidst the hostile crowd of Spurs fans. And with less time for rest between games, we shall see if team depth becomes a factor.

Would have been such a great win.
Barea was great, but I feel he was trying to do too much on the offensive end.
Dampier is a total buzzkill, although his defense wasn’t half bad.

They let the Spurs do whatever they wanted. Push, shove, fucking arm-wrestling, flop, bullshit offensive calls that killed any momentum. Dirk got screwed over and over again. JJ was fouled like 4 times in one sequence and the fuckers called a travel. Most of their and-ones were ticky-tac fouls.
Mavs are 1-17 with Dan Crawford as the refs since 2000. Nuff said. It’s like theu were making up for the first game (In which the Mavs had a ridiculous FT advantage but they played very aggresive going to the basket) with two straight screwjobs.

we have a chance but if we are going to win against the spurs on the road with just 3 god damn guys scoring in double digits … that’s gonna take a 50+ game from dirk and a 30+ from terry … because for all the firepower we supposedly have, we need more than 16 points from our starting unit (dirk excluded)

Watched the game on TV so I wasn't able to log in here.
I just don’t understand why RC kept JJ on the floor even when he isn’t producing anymore. He and Jet were liabilities on guarding Paker, Hill, and Manu. He should have put in Butler or Marion for defensive purposes during the about 7:00 minute mark of the 4th.

The way the Mavs are built
It is gonna be hard to win this series – 3 of the 5 starters do not require a defensive cover – Damp, Kidd, and Marion. In order to be anb effective PG, Kidd must be a threat to score. Damp is a mistake – Haywood should be starting. Marion is no longer a consistent offensive threat, and he no longer caries the rebounding load. So in order to win, Dirk must score 30, and Butler HAS to be involved. Marion has to be a dervish like he was in Phoenix, and Kidd must keep defenses honest.
That said, I do notice one thing about this series – Dirk should be able to get 40 a game on Bonner, and if Kidd/Butler could keep the triple teams off of him, I don’t see why you don’t have Dirk look to score every time down.
The Mavs need a beast down low. Why can’t Mr Moneybags pry Bosh or Stoudemire?

I wish Butler and Marion take the benching on this game seriously and come out focused on game 4 and the succeeding games. That’s the only way we would win without relying too much on Dirk and Jet.

DONT BLAME THE REFS...
Blame your team! You guys are so quick to point the finger at the refs or Stern for losing or the spurs being gritty…. everybody else but the TEAM!! Everybody, but Dirk, deserves some blame wearing a dallas uniform last night. Nobody else. Its still not over till its over, but I hope the Spurs continue to keep fighting. GO SPURS GO!!!
