Radical Idea

Here's an unlikely blockbuster, but this could be a beneficial trade:

Dallas trades Dirk Nowitzki (before he exercies player option), Erick Dampier, and JJ Barea to

Toronto for Chris Bosh (signed at max by Raptors) and Hedo Turkoglu

In such a deal, Dirk exercies his option, Toronto buys out Damp's contract, and does whatever they choose with Barea (either exercise his option or not, it doesn't make a difference in such a deal). Then we resign Dirk to a max contract.

I don’t think that’s even close to being affordable. If we could do that, then we could sign James without a trade.

Butler, Terry, Kidd, Marion, Carroll, and Stevenson puts us at roughly 45 million.

Can’t sign a free agent to a max contract, but we could resign someone(Dirk) to a max contract. But in this trade Dirk would be a Raptor, so we wouldn’t be able to resign him, since his last team would be Toronto.

Because this is Arizona.

Hey Mark Cuban

Can I a have a couple million. Since you pay idiot players millions of dollars that can’t play basketball!

No way they could sign Dirk to a max contract if he's no longer a Mav ...

… but I love your positive thinking, agl! That’d be a pretty sweet scenario to unfold.

I just read this post..

And yeah man it’s a good thought! Keep thinking and i’d love to hear other opinions! It really was a good thought and it’s too bad it wouldnt work. I mean if it were legal anyways, Toronto would need some kind of insurance to assure they don’t get screwed over for this. for this to work, They would require Dirk to agree to the option before the trade.

I really like Bosh, so i love this post and idea. Maybe you could come up with a similar idea to fish him in? I’d love to hear it!

Good topic!

Would be nice but it sounds a bit tricky to pull off. Take a lot of good faith on everyones part to make sure nobody gets screwed over.

Why would you want Turkoglu?

Did you not see how f*cking lazy he was in Toronto? Cuban wants winners, not lazy guys going to clubs instead of practice.

He’s a good player, but one has to question his desire to play.

How’s this a good idea? Turkoglu is been disappointing, and Bosh isn’t going to lead us to championships. He’s good, but not great. Would be a great secondary player to a D-Wade, etc.

You have a better chance with Bosh then Turkoglu

At least Bosh will give you 100% in every game.
