FIBA World Championship 2010 Turkey Days 1 and 2
Lazy edition.
Yeah, i think these advertisers know their job very well...
So, to make things short: The Dallas Mavericks do have several players/prospects participating in these games. Guess how they fared...
Day 1
Very well hidden.
JJ Barea had a game-high 25 Pts, 4 boards and 4 assists in 33 minutes, but couldn't prevent Puerto Rico from losing against Russia 66-75.
€: Video available (via dmavs.net)
Tyson Chandler had a short stint with 11 minutes and collected as much fouls as points, namely 4. A little D, 2 blocks, et voila, USA beats Croatia 106-78.
Aaarggh! The Chairman!
Nick Calathes of Greece watched Chairman Yi put up 26 and 14 played 10 minutes, scored 2 points, missed 2 shots and 1 ft, scratched 1 rebound, 1 foul and 1 turnover from the bare bottom of an 89-81 victory over China.
Ian Mahinmi contributed 5 pts, 5 boards, 2 steals and a block during 16 minutes in a stunning 72-66 victory of France against the defending Champion Spain.
€ Video, too.
For a somewhat more detailed look, check out the painted area.
Today the games will continue... with JJ meeting Nicky, Tyson bedazzling/getting bedazzled by Dragic (Slovenia) and Ian clobbering some cedars(Lebanon). Enjoy!

Day 2
Finishing at the rim is in traffic much easier in Fiba games.....wait, what?
JJ played [again] very well with 30 min, 20 pts, 12 fta, 5 boards, 4 assists, 4to, 5 pf......and lost [again] in a [exciting, dramatic] close one against Nicky, who went 0-4 w/ 1 rb, 1 ast and 1 pf in 12 backup minutes. Puerto Rico 80:83 Greece.
Shit.
Missed.
Tyson Chandler had 4 ok minutes in the first half with a board and a block aswell as 5 forgettable minutes in garbagetime, blowing 2 alleyoops and adding a foul and a turnover for good measure. USA wins 99-77 vs SLO.
Our other big man had a better [field] day, clobbering Lebanons cedars 86-59 to the tune of 7-10 FG, 14 Pts, 9 Rbds, 1 Stl, Blk, To and 2 Pfs in 25 minutes.
To be perfectly reasonable, i didn't watch any of those games, instead i opted to lose a large amount of hair by [naturally] pulling it out as ze germans very nearly wasted 4 consecutive game closing leads in crunchtime. These mofos sans Kaman and Dirk should have beaten the #1 on the Fiba Ranking, Argentina (sans Manu & Nocioni) yesterday and should have beaten Vice-European Champion Serbia (sans Chairthrower and the other dude) in regulation, 1 OT and with a lot bigger margin than the final 2OT 82-81. In which way is that related to the Mavs? Well, die Mannschaft is getting the short whistle all day long and it probably won't change. Blatantly.

if jj would be the only def. liability on the mavs, he could play more…
but thats not the case and ever since roddy, jj gets maligned
